A Vietnamese-American nail salon manager in Wisconsin on Tuesday fought off a robber with a gun, reported local television WSAW-TV.
According to news report here, a female came into Pro Nails, 354 S. 18th Ave, Wausau. She pretended to want an appointment, and when Henry Nguyen went to look at the books, she stuck a gun to his waist.
What happened next was nothing short of amazing. “I just used my left hand and I pushed the gun out away from me,” said Nguyen. “And once the gun was not pointed at me anymore I just used my right hand and punched her in the face.”
Somehow he knocked out a tooth, chased the robber out of the store, and took down her license plate number.
According to the Wausau Daily Herald here, the suspect was nabbed. Her name is Amanda L. Decker, 22, of Wausau. She was charged with attempted armed robbery and held on $15,000 cash bail. The paper also said that the gun was a BB gun.
The WSAW-TV story concluded with: “Now that he thinks back on the situation, he says it probably wasn’t the best plan of action, but at the time he wasn’t thinking.”
No kidding.
Don’t any of you try that at home!
