Oregon has a new state champion in women’s gymnastics level 9, and it’s Vietnamese-American athlete Alyssa Nguyen.

Alyssa Nguyen, now in ninth grade, won all-around in her 14-15 year-old age group at the women’s state gymnastics championship that took place in Medford, Oregon last Saturday, says the Hillsboro Argus here.

The paper reported:

After completing all four events, she scored 9.375 on the vault, and her winning all-around score was 36.975.

Alyssa is a 4.0 honor student at Century (High School), and she trains at Metro Gymnastics Center in Tualatin.
