Got this copy of Van Tran’s letter in Vietnamese accusing Janet Nguyen of being a commie.

It’s even on official California Assembly letterhead. Don’t know if that’s legal, but knowing Van, the Bolsavik assumes that it probably is — that Van wouldn’t be so careless about serious stuff like that. Click on image to see the whole page. Apparently the letter is mailed to everyone in the First District. The Bolsavik got his through email.

The OC Weekly just published a story by Scott Moxley explaining exactly why the boss of the boss, the power behind Van Tran’s power, is so silent in the Dina vs. Janet race.

Mike Schroeder (pictured) is a high-priced, high-octane lawyer and former state chairman of the GOP. He took Van Thai Tran under his wing, guided him up the Republican ladder. When it came time for Trannie Trung Nguyen to run for supervisor, Schroeder was the force that drove his lawsuits-upon-lawsuits against Janet Nguyen after Trung lost the last election.

And then, all of a sudden, Schroeder went silent and stopped attacking Janet.

What gives?

You know what happens when you keep throwing stones at somebody? Sooner or later they will toss some at your glass house.

In the case of Assemblyman Van Thai Tran and his underlings accusing Supervisor Janet Nguyen of being a commie, and with the absentee balloting already going on, the tit (the one that’s for the tat — get your mind out of the gutter) was sooner rather than later.

The Bolsavik received in his email something that appears to be Janet’s mailer, front and back. And it accuses Van Tran’s gang of the exact same thing they accused her. (Of course.)

The front of the mailer shows Janet at several protests against communist Vietnam, lobbying U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer for the Vietnam Human Rights Act, and asks “Where was Dina?”

Which is a fair question, because Janet’s challenger Dina Nguyen (as pictured right; click to see whole mailer) is extremely new to the community and to politics, and unlike the savvy Van Tran, didn’t show up at events unless somebody (usually Van or Westminster City Councilman Andy Quach) drags her there.
