Got this copy of Van Tran‘s letter in Vietnamese accusing Janet Nguyen of being a commie.
It’s even on official California Assembly letterhead. Don’t know if that’s legal, but knowing Van, the Bolsavik assumes that it probably is — that Van wouldn’t be so careless about serious stuff like that. Click on image to see the whole page. Apparently the letter is mailed to everyone in the First District. The Bolsavik got his through email.
Although Van cites the Coalition Against Resolution 36′s accusation that Janet is chum with Eric Le, the head of the Vietnam Business Association — the same Eric Le with whom Van himself is allegedly chum — Van pointedly did not repeat allegations that the Lee’s Sandwiches chain is commie.
No surprises there: Lee’s Sandwiches stores and managers donated $1,450 to Van in the 2007-2008 election cycle. Here.
Van has stooped to “all time low”. They are getting desperate. They are so afraid of loosing they wiil try anything now. Sad to see Van going down this dark alley but I am sure he’s made other future plans for himself outside of public office already…

The Vietnamese in the comment got all mangled up, but I think I can decipher it, and it says basically, “there’s a footer in Van Tran’s letter that says it was not printed or mailed with public money, so it ought to be ok.”
I know that. But sometimes there are rules against using official government letterhead for political campaigning. It doesn’t matter who paid for the printing and mailing; it could be illegal to even use the letterhead at all.
I don’t know if California has such a law, or if the California Assembly has such a rule. Since Van Tran did this, and since I know Van is no fool, I assume (as I stated in the post) that it’s legal.
I have received the same letter and it was a simple reply letter against the false accusation by Janet Nguyen……………..and it is perfectly legal for elected official to defend/answer such wrong/unethical claims by Janet.
Janet, when will you grow up?

It’s still a hit Van would have been fine if he had that letter and if he only mailed to his assembly district. He is toast since he mailed outside his own district. Thus violating State Law. Van you are trouble get an attorney we still need you in office.

Tran can mail his letter outside the district to respond to Janet Nguyen, who had repeatedly slandered him. He doesn’t have to mail within his district if he is mailing to the same constituencies that Janet mailed. You don’t know what you are talking about.
State political laws allow for any candidate and elected official to send out mailers to defend themselves when they are not even candidates for that seat. Janet Nguyen and her hired help were “kind” enough to open the door and initiated the false attack for which Tran now responds. It’s very straightforward. Check your facts.
Legally, Assemblyman can send out responding mailers to the area(s) where Janet has CONTAMINATED/INFECTED with nasty lies.
Janet needs to be nurtured with love and guidance…….where was her parents when she was growing up?

LOL!!!! Check the State FPPC rules. Van is in Trouble. If he kept his letter he would be fine. But he kept the hit. this is also colusion with Dina’s camp and his. Also, Van could also be in trouble with paying off Dina’s GG City Council account.

Since all of these so called lies are transmitted in Vietnamese, I cannot figure it out. All I see is a bunch of morons pointing fingers at each other claimng the other person is a communist.
I also wonder if Van Tran has paid for an Assembly staffer, who is on leave, with his Assembly campaign funds to work full time for Dina’s campaign. I guess we’ll have to wait for the FPPC reports to come out on July 31st to know for sure.

The OC Register today wrote that the OC republican party seemed to prefer Janet Nguyen to Van Tran and that all the candidates for various jobs in OC Van Tran supported were the losers in the recent election ! It looks like Van Tran time is ticking . Too bad for Van Tran and his followers ! HAHAHA !!!
Bad news for Janet’s family………… Assemblyman Van Tran has been selected to John McCain’s leadership committee and his representation for asian communities is highly revered by the republican party.
