The red-baiting competition reached shrill level over the last couple of days, with Trannies Lan Quoc Nguyen and Trung Nguyen battling Janet’s chief of staff Andrew Do over the radio air waves, and all sorts of other surrogagtes chiming in.
And then in all the cacophony, the Bolsavik remembers something.
Remember that red-baiting piece that Van Thai Tran sent out on Assembly letterhead?
One person he accused of being a communist is Nhi Ho (pictured; Vietnamese: Ho Van Xuan Nhi).
Well, Nhi Ho was a co-chair of Van Tran’s 2004 campaign for Assembly.

The commies are coming, the commies are coming!!!! Damn, with all the “ch?p m? – ing” going on, it seems like we’re all commies. Sad to say, but this type of strategy works. Just label someone a communist he/she’s dead ….. or until they have to go out of their way to prove otherwise. Just wondering, why doesn’t anyone ever question the person doing the labeling? question their motives? Whenever election time comes around, our Vietnamese community sure knows how to bring out the worst in each other. And in the end, we are a joke to others and ourselves.
When we first arrived on this land, Vietnamese people used to be recognized as hard-working, intelligent, high on family values. Now, people look at us and think commies, extremists, racists, gamblers, tax evaders (nails), self-interested politicians (Van, Lan, Trung, Janet, Andy)……

Nhi Ho of 2000 is a different Nhi Ho of 2008. Perhaps he did not get what he wants from Van Tran, like a real job, and then turned on Tran? It happens all the time. Didn’t Janet Nguyen used to be a protege of Tran and then stuck a knife into him, too?
