BLACK APRIL COMMEMORATION 2008
VIETNAM VETERANS’ EXHIBITION: MEMORIES OF VIETNAM 1955-1975
It is the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of press
It is the Soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer who gives us freedom to demonstrate
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag
Who serves beneath the flag
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
(Father Dennis Edward O’Brien) -
April 30th this year is the 33rd anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War with the fall of Saigon. Viet Art Center together with many organizations around the country commemorates this date with our first photographic exhibition: Memories in Vietnam 1955-1975, as seen through the lenses of the American soldiers who fought the war.
Viet Art Center and St. Anselm of Canterbury Episcopal Church cordially invite you all to attend our Grand Opening of this exhibition on May 3, from 2pm-4pm.
The Vietnam Veterans will bring their memoriablias to exhibit only on this Grand Opening day.
The exhibition will be on display from May 3 through July 5 from 10am-5pm (Closed Monday and Sunday)
Come to share your respect and love for the Vietnam Veterans and to learn more about the Vietnam War. Together we will honor the memory of all those who gave and lost their lives for freedom.
For more details, please contact phone: (714) 537-0608 or email: vietartcenter@aol.com
By the way, Viet Art Center is also the entity accused of being a communist for sponsoring the concert by The Friends on the 7th anniversary of the death of composer Trinh Cong Son. Read here and here.
