So Janet Nguyen had her press conference today to, as her camp puts it, ”reveal to the public facts linking Van Thai Tran to communist money.”
The Bolsavik didn’t go, figuring that it’s probably the same kind of crapola that the Van Tran camp has been hurling at her.
And it was.
The Coalition Against Resolution 36 held a counter-presser. The Bolsavik didn’t go to that one either.
Chris Prevatt over at TheLiberalOC.com sent over some pictures he took at the Janet presser (the pictures you see here are by Chris).
Based on these pictures (and the pictures only, remember the Bolsavik wasn’t there) it seems like there were some old stuff repeated, and the new accusation was that Van Tran accepted money and hung around with the Vietnamese-American Entrepreneurs Association — the Northern California equivalent of the Vietnam Business Association.
The VAEA is, like the VBA, a business group that encourages trade with Vietnam. It co-sponsored the visit by Vietnam’s President Nguyen Minh Triet to Dana Point last year, which sparked all this firework in the supervisorial race.
Just this week-end, 
VAEA hosted a delegation from Hai Phong, a port city in northern Vietnam, the main entry point for goods heading to the capital Hanoi.
(Note to Janet: Next time you take money from people doing business in Vietnam, do like Van and do it out of town.)
In the old days, accusations like these would kill off the career of any politician or even businesses.
These days, the Bolsavik is willing to bet dollars to donuts that after all is said and done, everything will remain the same, and that the VAEA and the VBA will continue to host trade delegations from Vietnam and Trannies like Cuong Bui the Photoshop man will continue to do brisk business in that country with no problems whatsoever.
Why? Because despite what some extremists might say, this community has moved on and no longer considers doing business in Vietnam as an act of propping up the communist government there.
Just ask John McCain, he’ll tell you that putting money in Vietnam is a good thing.

According to recent photos, she even celebrated the 2008 Vietnamese New Year holiday party with Eric Le.
It is ridiculous to compare this close, well documented relationship to the thousand of chance encounters and polite photos all of Orange County’s elected officials are sure to take in the course of regular public meetings and functions.
Janet has expressed her support for and close relationship with Mr. Le. She has unbelievable audacity to impugn Assemblyman Tran’s record of fighting for freedom and democracy. This press conference is just a last minute smear campaign to divert attention from Janet’s failed Supervisorial race against Councilwoman Dina Nguyen and attorney Hoa Tran, in which Assemblyman Van Tran is not a candidate.
