Protesting Viet Weekly? The end.
June 17th, 2008
The protesters demonstrating every Saturday on Garden Grove’s Main Street are throwing in the towel.
Their leader Hung Phuong Nguyen, also a PR man for Assemblyman Van Thai Tran, went on the radio last night on the ironically named “Anti-Communist Forum” (Vietnamese: Dien Dan Chong Cong) and called off the protests against the magazine Viet Weekly.
The reason he gave was that the protest organizer Coalition Against Resolution 36 has to prepare to picket against the visit to the U.S. of communist Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung — whose itinerary does not include California.
He also said that the protest could resume “if necessary.” No word on what would constitute the necessity of a protest like that.

Viet Weekly should celebrate this as a victory. Rumors has it that VW plans to expand this magazine to publish in Vietnam. But I got the gut feeling that they will go to jail soon for making fun of its leaders. Van Tran here only uses his big mouth, but Vietnamese authorities has its jungle laws.q

this isnt just a victory for the viet weekly this is a victory for all of us. this was a stupid protest to begin with and these communists who participated need to educate themselves on our laws. they need to pick the right fights to fight. now if the communists on moran street would see the light and get jobs we might all live a little better in our community.
June 17th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
I wonder when do they stop the protest at Nguoi-Viet newspaper?
Afraid to lose face?
Or try to hold on until for record against Viet Weekly?
Noneless, it’s quite stupid … A protest has to have end results. What do they gain when they prolong the protest ?
June 17th, 2008 at 5:29 pm
hong bang, what they gain is they dont have to work and i think in some bizzare twisted way they actually think they are doing good. maybe they want to be famous or further whatever personal agenda they may have. maybe they want people to pay for their food when eating at a restaurant? one thing is for sure they sure arent doing anything positive for our community. they embarras all of us and clog our streets with their communist rants. i know on main street there was protesters who protested the protesters why isnt something like that happening in front of the NV?
June 17th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
The reasn there was protesters who protested the protesters at VietWeekly because they were non-Viet. Otherwise they would get spitted on or get beat up by these thugs. These anti-commie are coward. I called these are pick choose protesting.
June 18th, 2008 at 8:54 am
anh tu”, viet or non viet doesnt matter i seriously doubt these protesters would do that as long as there were cameras on them. it doesnt make sense for them to be out there this long without anybody saying anything to them. obviously they need to be educated on the constitution more importantly they need to get jobs. this type of nonsense will only continue unless somebody opposes them. and i think thats where the problem is, nobody opposes them. i went down there once and the police were called on me and i was called a communist by the communists but nobody spit on me or touched me. it’s important for people to go down there and say something regardless of what happens. this type of thing has gotten way out of hand and it needs to go away. at the very least they need to know that other people in our community are tired of it and think it only damages us in the longrun. but they need to be told this. like i said ive been out there once and i plan on going there again i will do my part to confront them i think more people need to do the same. when you think about it it’s our duty.

@ Jose S: there was ONLY one Vietnamese man ( jame Du ) stayed there to protest against the protesters . He got pissed off by almost everybody who were protest against Viet Weekly last year. but at least ONE. Not as you said: nobody .
If we already got one, we will get more people who get out of their “fear” to do the same to get rid of that bad image of the VNese community . it will take time and courage of everything single one.
Congratulation to VietWeekly. I bet this whole year of chaos, they would learn a great deal how to stand for themselves.
June 18th, 2008 at 10:17 am
lun ghe, i stand corrected thank you. jame du is a hero in my book to be the only one to oppose the communists. and yes we need more like him. we really need to do something about this before it gets more out of hand than it already is.

These protesters are welfare recipients. The time that they are not there to protest is when they have to see their social workers.
June 18th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
In my opinion , the losers are the protesters , Viet Weekly and Nguoi Viet and the winner is the silent and respectable majority of the vietnamese community !
June 18th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
-James Du is the real American. He’s so brave.
-The real loser here is the protesters. They had ruined the purpose of protesting. They had turned into fascists. Ironic that they claimed VN has no democracy or freedom of speech but here they would mug or spit on or vandalize properties of anyone who does not have the same view as theirs.
-Thanks to Bolsavik for having this blog.

James Du just bought a quilt from artist Chau Huynh for 5k. He is not an art collector either artist himself. He did it because he wanted to support the artist . He is my hero , too
June 19th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
The silent and respectable majority is the hard working people who have no time for the messy and dirty politics among those dirty , and noisy politicians . KHONG CO MO THI CHO VAN DONG , they should remember that vietnamese popular saying ! I never voted for them , sorry about that !!!

I am pleased to read the protestors have chosen to desist their disruptive activities. In mid-April, I wrote an opinion editorial in the weekly Journal newspaper in support of the business owners, many of them Vietnam Veterans.
The article stated: The protestors are treading on the rights of both the newspaper owners and the business owners to prosper and conduct business for nearly an entire year.
The First Amendment Rights freedoms include: the right to exercise religion, free speech and press, peaceably assemble and petition. The loud slogan chanting protests have gone on too far, for to long in their efforts to close down the newspaper. A democratic society welcomes varying views and debate. You do not have to agree but you must respect the right to hear an opposing viewpoint. The Viet protestors could constructively choose to boycott the Viet Weekly newspaper or better yet create their own newspaper to publish their views to be scrutinized by the public. It is one thing to chant noisy slogans and quite another to take on the responsibility of running a newspaper.

Mr. Russia_vik VQHN
Would you please shows the proof that Mr. Hung P. Nguyen is Van Tran’s “PR”. This is first time I heard this news. Thanks.

Mr. Vu Qui Hao Nhien,
Please answer my question. How do you know Mr. Hung P. Nguyen is Van Tran’s “PR”?
June 24th, 2008 at 9:35 am
A couple of months ago, he bragged about it.
But, frankly, though, I don’t rely on such lucky break. All you need to do is to listen to Nguyen Phuong Hung and compare it with what Nguyen Quoc Lan is saying it.
The Trannies rarely brag about the things they do in tandem with each other. Partly because guys like Nguyen Phuong Hung have baggage and Van Tran doesn’t want to be tainted with that.
Either way, it’s just my lucky break that Hung bragged about it and I heard. That’s rare. One high-ranking Trannie once even denied with a straight face that Cuong Bui is not acting on Tran’s behest. Hah!

Mellissa, as a Viet community members ………….all of us are that “PR person” for our proud Assemblyman Van Tran.

Van Tran is dumb trash, if that’s what you mean.
Why so concern about Van Tran image? by the way, did those dumb Sacramento politicians asked you anything about Andy Quach?
So cheers!

Melissa babe, I’m sure you have better things to do than blogging in here. It’s because of you smart people that our lives has been complicated. Why can’t you just be like other stupid people, believed in us & voted for us. No harm has been done, is it? Keep in mind that Viets always watch out for each others, just take a look @ Cytrists & you’d know we always have your best interest at heart. With a little green power, everything will be resolved. Don’t go try to make thing complicated here, you should know there’s always more stupid people out there than the smart ones. Give it up cause we Trannies are here to stay, at least in Westminster, Garden Grove & Midway City anyway. We are not going anywhere, and it’s not because we don’t think that we could win the votes anywhere else but because we love our stupid people in all the cities that we lived in. So please, don’t be too smart for your own good ! Just go cook & clean or something… anything is better than blogging in here.

Melissa Baby
Didn’t I pay you enough last night on Harbor Blvd? We didn’t go all the way but you ask for too much. I didn’t bring enough petty cash.
Once a whore, always a whore. Don’t you get it, Melissa? By the way, are you related to Big Mouth?
September 9th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
John Q, why did you have to pay man ? You’re so stupid, forget to mention my name again I bet ! Any time you want a whore, just call my Dizzy. Heck, if you are good, she’d end up paying you instead.

Giun Kim;
So you admitted those are DUMB Sacramento politicians…
And you are proud when these DUMB politician asked you about Van Tran…And why would that made your day?
Oh, because these DUMB politicians are white. When a white person ask you a question you feel so proud and so important now?….Poor you…That is called a ‘third world country inferior complex’.

Please, could anyone here tell me if it is bad taste or what? If I am Van Tran, I would stay away from this self proclaimed ‘PR person’ Giun Kim. His terrible, elementary level sale pitch is too much to bare, it just bring negative, reversed effect to people mind.
But again, the honorable assembly Van Tran may not see it as such. It may be sweet music to his ears….In that case…(sigh)…Where is our viet community heading to?
September 10th, 2009 at 6:26 am
Can’t stand the truth without having an ulcer?
The only reverse effect in your mind is growing up with proper sense and dignity for yourself…… idiot jack donkey!
donkey = ass
