The OC Superior Court this morning extended a temporary restraining order against Hoa Van Tran‘s campaign manager to June 23. Chris Prevatt of The Liberal OC posted his entry here, and Jubal of Red County/OC Blog posted here.
The TRO against Edgardo Reynoso (pictured) resulted from an accusation that he tried to run former campaign staffer Courtney Rychel off the freeway (read here).
It had been set to expire at the hearing on a preliminary injunction this morning. However, Rychel asked for more time to hire a lawyer, and the court granted it.
As Misha Houser recounted to the Bolsavik, the attorney for Reynoso attempted to have the extension shortened. Thuy Nguyen of the law offices of Phu Do Nguyen (former campaign treasurer for Hoa) asked the court to shorten the extension because she would be on vacation on the first proposed date.
Instead, Commissioner Jane Myers asked Thuy Nguyen when she would be back from vacation, and lengthened the extension to after the attorney returned.
Houser is also a former campaign staffer who was quoted extensively in a Register story here about gang members in Hoa’s campaign office. She was then sued by Hoa for alleged breach of contract. After Rychel filed for the TRO, both Houser and Rychel were sued by Reynoso for defamation.
Bolsavik,
The picture of Edgardo is too freakin funny!
I am rolling on the floor laughing my ass off!
this does NOT make sense said:
You left out the fact that it was Courtney who asked for the continuance because she was unable to find an attorney to represent her on such short notice.
Funny…wasn’t this hearing about the TRO brought forth by Courtney? Thus how come she wasn’t prepared for her own hearing? And didn’t Edgardo have the same amount of time to prepare? This doesn’t make sense.
Courtney, for your sake, I hope you find a good attorney who will represent your best interest, and NOT anybody else’s…
HEY TAKE THAT PICTURE OF EDGARDO DOWN! HE’S CREEPING ME OUT HE LOOKS LIKE BOLSAVIK!!!
Hideous,
You must be blind! Bolsavik is cute.
