The most conservative county in California voted for an accused communist(!) to be reelected to the Board of Supervisors. A rabid red-baiter who had gone so far as to protest a red belt buckle on a singer beat a four-term incumbent to join the County Board of Education. And a man who spent barely $5,000 campaigning garnered 465 votes in San Jose. These and other results of yesterday’s primary election:
Won:
Janet Nguyen, Orange County Board of Supervisors, District 1, 56.6%
Long Pham, Orange County Board of Education Area 1, 51.1%
Truong Diep, Republican Party of OC Central Committee, AD68, 9.6%
Cuong Sinh Cao, Republican Party of OC Central Committee, AD69, 12.9%
John Nho Trong Nguyen, OC Superior Court Office 25, 80.0%
Did not win:
Dina Nguyen, Orange County Board of Supervisors, District 1, 27.7%
Hoa Van Tran, Orange County Board of Supervisors, District 1, 15.6%
Minh Vuong, Democratic Party of OC Central Committee, AD69,
8.3% (placed 9th in vote for 6)
Minh Duong, San Jose City Council, District 8, 12.26% (placed 4th; top 2 going into runoff)
Lan Nguyen, San Jose City Council, District 8, 10.10% (placed 6th)
Van Le, San Jose City Council, District 8, 6.85% (placed 7th)
Bui Thang (pictured), San Jose City Council, District 2, 5.65% (placed 6th; top 2 going into runoff)
Timothy Sy Nguyen, OC Superior Court Office 25, 20.0%

Cuong Sinh Cao, an appointed incumbent who won his first election to the RPOC central committee, was notorious as a go-between to sabotage the appointment of Dr. KimOanh Nguyen-Lam as the superintendent of the Westminster School District. His California Republican Assembly chapter is also controversial within the GOP; read here and here.
Congratulations to all winners, especially JANET vs the VAN Tran mafia group.
Janet’s win spoke loudly about the quiet majority who is sick and tired of the Communist chup mu card deal, the big mouth VAN TRAN lawyer’s groups. Shame on all of you!
Who the hell in their right mind would vote for Long Pham? While I am not so fond of Viet-Americans politicians, I am glad that Janet Nguyen got reelected. Her reelection is a slap in the face for those who love to name others VC or VC sympathizers in this dirty game. These people play the same game like their boss in the White House: “If you’re not w/ us, you’re w/ them!”
