Viet students to be honored by Greater Dallas Asian American CC

Six students with Vietnamese surnames are among 20 to receive the Excellence in Education Award from the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

The awards, now in its 16th year, recognize “Asian American high school seniors in the metroplex for their outstanding academic achievements and community services.”

The Vietnamese-American students named in the press release are: Jaclyn H. Le, Stephanie O. Nguyen, Thu K. Nguyen, Christopher T. Trinh, Aivy H. Truong, and Khiem T. Vu.

The award banquet, held by the GDAACC in partnership with the Multi-Ethnic Education and Economic Development Center, will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Intercontinental Dallas Hotel in Addison.  Randall S. James, Commissioner of the Texas Department of Banking, will deliver a keynote address.
