A simple logical reasoning:

1. The oversea Vietnamese refugees praised Tong Ly as their hero who led them in the fight against communists and sympathizers.
2. Hero Tong Ly has questionable characters and actions.
3. Therefore, the Viet refugees, particularly those who praised Tong Ly, are people with the same questionable characters and actions as those of Tong Ly.

Who benefits from Tong Ly’s questionable characters and actions? The current Communist Party of Vietnam!

Then, who actually is Tong Ly? The answer is subject to debate…

It’s also a cop-out because the communists use this type reasoning themselves. Whenever a dissident speaks out on any issue the government deems threatening, they charge them with erroneous charges of “against national unity/security”. These extremists in the community are no better than the people they claim to fight against. Imagine if these guys are in roles of power, we’ll be seeing the exactly same thing we’re seeing now in VN. It’s sad, but the moment anyone speaks out about these clowns, they’re labeled communists right away. I applaud the Bolsavik for speaking out.
