The drawing came just in time for Christmas cheers. Hieu Tran, 38, of South Buffalo NY won the jackpot for the “In the Money” instant scratch-off game, reports the Buffalo News here.
Tran won $1 million, which will payout at a rate of $50,000 a year for the next 20 years. After taxes, that will be $34,075.
Tran told the media what he wanted to do with the money: Take a trip to Vietnam to see his mother, and the rest to provide for education for his two children.
“I thought, finally, I can take care of my mom and my children for their education,” Tran said. “I want to take care of my mom, for what she gave up for me, to give me my freedom in this country.”
Congratulations on your luck, Mr. Hieu Tran. Since you are concerned with your children’s education, I highly recommend Johns Hopkins – Princeton Universities’ summer programs for children from 4th to 12th grades. The programs are reputed for teaching children to become very fine citizens. Congratulations again and wishing you the best!
That’s my cousin stealing my money. In return for a lift to the airport, I gave him my winning scratcher! Blood relative or not, I am redistributing that wealth back to my wallet.
