Senior running back Peter Nguyen from Bellevue High School in Washington was named the (Class 3A) Player of the Year by the AP while also selected for All-State offense, according to the Bellevue Reporter here.
That’s Nguyen in the picture, with the ball.
This past year, Peter Nguyen had to sit out more than a third of the games with a knee injury. Nonetheless, he still rushed for 1218 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Nguyen and teammate Jamal Atofau (also named to the All-State defense) were, says the Bellevue Reporter, “key members of Bellevue’s team that went 14-0 and won the Class 3A state championship this season.”
In the title game, Nguyen scored one touchdown and rushed for 152 yards on only 10 carries, says the Tacoma News-Tribune here.
Atofau has committed to Washington State. No words on where Peter Nguyen will go for college.
Here’s a picture by the Seattle Times of Peter Nguyen as a junior, refusing to go down even with two tacklers on him.

I also refuse to go down, even though this whole Blog hates me.
JK,
You’re the best, man. You own this dang blog! Keep on trucking.
@ Wanna be JK Fan:
Please stop stealing other people’s identity-that is my title! I own the trademark to it.
I better not make JK upset or he will ban me too!
Jung Kim,
Your statement “this whole Blog hates me” is not correct. I never hate you. Sometimes I really enjoy your ideas.
I wish you a best holiday season.

@Mr. Tien Huynh:
Are we talking about the same person?
Tien, my feeling is mutual about your postings. I know this year is ending soon and I hope for the best…for all of you Bolsavik bloggers.
P.S. Another wannabe Jung Kim used my name to get himself more trouble. Some people can’t grow up.
“An trai, nho ke tron cay”
Football used to be very sagegrated in the 1960s.
Can you imagine a black solder who was drafted to fight the war in Vietnam, then came back to American only to be denied admission into colleges because of race.
