Monday, January 5th, 2009A Viet featured on “America’s Most Wanted” as a suspect in what the show calls a “
bloodbath” 11 years ago has been captured in Canada and is back to New York awaiting extradition to Ohio, says the Buffalo News here.
Chi Quang Du, now 38 (pictured in 1997), was wanted for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend and her male study partner on the campus of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, in October 1997.
According to “America’s Most Wanted” here, Du’s former girlfriend - whom he had allegedly been stalking for months - was studying with a male friend at the library. When the two students took a break and went to the vending machines, Du was there.
So they ran to the parking lot, but Du allegedly “grabbed the woman and held a knife to her throat. When her friend moved to try to help her, Du allegedly sliced the girl’s neck and stabbed her in the stomach.”
Du then stabbed the friend too. With the victims unable to move, Du believed them to be dead and left. Police who arrived described it as “the most gruesome crime scenes they’d ever seen.” One officer said the victims looked like someone “carved them up.”
