Ky Ngo, the perennial protestor outside the offices of Nguoi Viet Daily News, held a party today Sunday.
It’s not clear what it is Ky Ngo (far right in the photo) was celebrating. It could be a Tet’s eve party. Or it could be the one-year anniversary of the protest, which began a year ago Monday.
Either way, ’twas the occasion for Ky Ngo to inaugurate three new effigies, shown leaning against the wall in the photo above.
The effigies are of, from left to right, Dat Phan the current CEO of Nguoi Viet, and next to him, Westminster City Councilmen Truong Diep and Tri Ta.
Two things could have triggered the new effigies. Last weekend, Westminster cops came and towed away his truck for overtime parking. Maybe that’s why Ngo is unhappy with the Viet members of the Westminster city council – and may have spared Andy Quach for sentimental reasons. Or maybe because Nguoi Viet held its 30th anniversary party earlier this month and Diep and Ta dared show up.
One thing you must admire about Ky Ngo though — the man will never run out of gimmicks….
The flag of the Republic of Vietnam has been associated with a group of low life criminals. Who could have served the Vietcong’s interest better than these criminals?

I tend to agree with jose s. Personal horrible experiences must be kept inside the home and must yield to higher value of human rights. By the same token, many people who have family members killed by the terrorists on 09/11 would have to swallow their bitterness and support president Obama’s decision to close down Guantanamo Bay prison. Regarding Ngo Ky, Doan Trong, Ly Tong, etc., since these people are destroying the good cause of the Viet refugees and are serving the Vietcong’s interest, it is reasonable for an ordinary person to conclude that these people themselves are Vietcongs.
Sonny T, I think Jose S was referring to the large community protest over the Ho Chi Minh picture, more than 1% of the local population. The lack of tolerance is akin to the communist approach to anything, not literally communist in belief.

And sorry for you Jose for putting up with all of that noise and traffic associated with those protests but my dumb neighbors start the Mariachi music from Friday night till late Sunday every weekend, i never did throw rock at his house…politely asked him to turn it down a few times since i got young kids. And i could have taken advantage of the system and call 911, but guess what?..I didn t.
But look on the bright side, if this would be Vietnam, any conflict usually ended up in violent, so my point s this first generation shows great progress in term of respecting the law….give them prop for that.
