Art to blossom life – more

So now at least we know where the slogan came from.

The gentleman in the video is Neil Nguyen, an attorney. His Vietnamese name is Nguyễn Xuân Nghĩa (not to be confused with the isonymous but better known columnist for Nguoi Viet and Viet Bao daily newspapers).

Just a couple of weeks ago he and his non-profit organization were marching in the Tet Parade without carrying the yellow flag, and immediately afterwards were accused of being commies. (If you can read Vietnamese, click here.)

Maybe this is his way to redeem himself or something….

** The Redemption of the Father **

Darth Vader never stopped believing the SVN Military Force, and never spoke against it; in fact, he did the opposite, quenching down all uprising and rebellions with protests and rallies , chastising and punishing Vietnamese who were derisive of his beliefs, and making clear he remained an adherent of his “anti-communist religion”.

Darth Vader was also a crucial actor in the destruction of the Empire’s power structure , he did what no other Jedi could do — destroy the Sith Order completely and restore balance to the Force, allowing the Order to rise again through his son, Luke.

Terrible as they are what Darth Vader did in the past, are not unforgivable, and Darth Vader is still eligible for redemption and salvation, at the last moment of his life.

** Darth Vade, after taking of the mask, returned to humanity **
** All Fathers, take off your mask now, to return to humanity, take off your military facades **
** Resign from your cocoon of revenge and hatred to start your redemption **
** Your ancestral forefathers awaiting for your empathy awakening **

  2. Jack Nguyen says:

What do you call elected officials going around accusing others of being “commies” when he/they himself has relatives in the Party back home? Holding the SVN flag makes him anticommunist? Like someone said, the guy screaming fire may be the actual fire starter. Where are the people to call him/them on it?

  3. Country First says:

    ** Bến Tre Logic. **

One of the most famous quotes of the Vietnam War was a statement attributed to an unnamed U.S. Air Force Major by AP correspondent Peter Arnett. Writing about the provincial capital, Ben Tre, on February 7, 1968, Arnett said: “‘it became necessary to destroy the town to save it,’ a U.S. major says.”

To this day, “Ben Tre logic” is a common saying for whenever a “logical” conclusion is to destroy something out of the perceived best interests of everyone involved.

All Vietnamese diversity and differences must be destroyed in order to save Vietnam.

** Bến Tre Logic being applied by same Vietnanese **

I lost my phone. can you email me your number again.

  5. chau nguyen says:

Nghia’s young-enough-to-be-his-grandchild bride is missing in this video. Man, that is just sick. Imagine that when Nghia was 30, she wasn’t even born. And when he was 40, she was only 10. Oh, the humanity!

  6. ChamPha says:

Why am I so sick of all of these nonsense in the Vietnamese/Bolsa community?

  7. Thu Nguyen says:

    let bygone be bygone.
The war was over a long time ago.
Let ‘s live in peace !

  8. The Oracle says:

    Thu Nguyen,

    Bygone lingers as fleshing pain.
War blood still red and not washing away.
Ghost of war rains nightly sweats.
Waking up, I see myself and war on the mirror.
I am a prisoner of the past into the future.
The day of redemption still unseen.

  9. The Oracle says:

Your peace from heaven, my peace in hell.

  10. Sonny Tran says:

The battle might be over a long time ago, but the war will not go away.

Real men will revenge his honor till last drop of blood, this life or the next.
Just because you re offered comforts now doesn t mean you should forget the bitter past. And that seperates men from boy.
You can insult a boy, give him some candies…and all is forgiven.
You can insult a woman, give her lots of money….and all is forgiven.
But insult a real man?..Better give him your blood. And i m talking about REAL men, not keyboard warriors.

  11. Li'l Saigon Man says:

Sonny, good one – keyboard warrior…

    That’s me!

  12. Sonny Tran says:

    Haha….Wassup Saigon man.

Sad to see our older folks fighting a losing war but….
gotta admire and be proud of their spirit man, and that s what make us Vietnamese different from other race, and let s hope some fools will not butt in and call me racist.
What i mean is……What s wrong with our current generation?..Some act like they are not related to our heritage?..Compared to others, we Vietnamese are doing pretty good here since 1975?..Ofcourse you can t explain what i mean to a younger Vietnamese kid dying blond hair, boop job and speaking broken English with an Asian accent?…. but insisting they are not Vietnamese?..What are they so ashamed of?..

And what s the deal with this Bonsevik and these VAALA chicks and these “so call” artists wanna teach them older folks how to live here?..
They might be fighting the wrong battle but the moral here is…they are fighting, not folding and given up?..See?….That should be a good sign of survival.

  13. Sonny Tran says:

Oh and Chau Nguyen?..Let s just assume you are a girl then.

On your comment on Nghia s young-enough-to-be-his-grandchild-bride?..It s called trophy wife or mail-order bride here, a very common even though not endorsed practice…..It shows the success of a male businessman.
If you do good enough, maybe when you turn 50, you can afford your own 18 years old boy-toy… and nobody can say anything about it. Good luck

  14. M&M says:

I guess both sides still fighting ” . . . my right is better than your right …. ” huh ? I don’t see why is it so hard for them to come up with the compromise . . let says . . . if Brian D. just remove that one picture of that girl out of his art collection, I think that will solve the problem or is it too much to ask ???

  15. Sonny Tran says:

    Called male ego problem M&M….
I first thought Brian was smart to market his arts, now i really think he s just like any unreasonable fools fighting for no-good goal….sort of a puppet.
Anyway, if Brian Doan ever notices the difference in communication effect between him and let s say…….National Geographic Photographers?..Day and night there?..And they don t have to choose a controversal subject to promote their names?…….the picture quality tells all.
You just don t take a picture of an old man sitting in a modern living room and called Freedom Fighter?..Maybe the same old man in a Afgan back, riffle in hand, a dark look on his face?…….and an Army tank in the back ground?…Then the audience would really know what Freedom Fighter really is?..IMHO.

  16. M&M says:

Sometimes too much freedom can be a bad thing , especially when you don’t know how to use it wisely. It’s not good thing to be smart without being sensible or reasonable !

  17. Li'l Saigon Man says:

Sonny, I can understand the alienation, but as they grow older they will realize how miniscule the experience is compared to being an one-person sovereignity. How does one define one’s identity, culturally and ethnically. Only time can mend and heal.

I have come to define my heritage culturally. Any and all can be VN as long as one recognizes and identifies with the culture. I do not mean living in the States using VN customs. No, realizing the pros and cons of the VN culture and using the best to apply to greater society and do the reverse, adapting all the best traits of US culture on the older VNs.

Some of the great strengths of the American culture are forgiveness and tolerance. In time, most people will come around to seeing what most people here already observe and practice. As long as extreme acts are not carried out, everything is AOK. I am OK and you are OK. Let’s have a good time hanging out and shooting the breeze.

With that in mind, the community should not tolerate bad people going around calling others names, such as commie this and that, and pro communist without proof. Those people accusing others should be castigated or brought to court because that is what they deserve.

Too bad we have so many VN aholes in the local government carrying out such tactic.

  18. Sonny Tran says:

That s exactly why i said these older folks are fighting a losing war, sad to see they never will blend in the main stream…..
And like you say Saigon man” Those people accusing others should be castigated….” or is it like… you should say “castrated” if this s Vietnam right?..A very simple example of difference between Commy and Uncle Sam?.
And yes, too many aholes in the local goverment here……A rat is a rat, doesn t matter whether it s black or white.

  19. The Oracle says:

Vengeful Father, threatened by the rise of the younger generations, trying to challenge the Father’s past world of rules and orders.
The Father then launches a horrifying conflict with the Youths.

The Youth must find a way to reach out to the humanity of The Father.
The Father must recognize the illusion of his past world, and a change of heart would dissolves all hateful images, and restore him to humanity.

It is a natural human transformation : Redemption and Atonement.

  20. Quang says:

This is a non issue to 99% of the Viets who don’t live in Lil Saigon.

  21. Tien Huynh says:

The Father cannot have a change of heart and cannot be atoned with.
The Youth cannot find a way to reach out to the humanity of the Father.
He should love his hateful Father unconditionally and should continue their journey into the free world.
Eventually, the Father will die bringing with him all hatreds to the other world.
The Youth will feel sad for many years because of the Father’s death.
He will always remember his Father so as to remind himself not to oppress his children as the Father did.

  22. Sonny Tran says:

The Youth thought he was ways smarter than his old fashioned Father.
He taught his children Freedom of Speech.
He taught his children to not fear anything but telling the Truth.
Eventually, the son of the Youth one day looking straight up in the Youth s eyes and tell him: ” Hey Dad, you better learn how to behave as a human first before calling yourself an artist?..You don t even know how to take a nice picture man”.
The Youth feels sad for a minutes because he now realizes a Degree here and there don t mean anything compared to family bond.
He will always remember to buy a yellow and three red stripes flag for his Father s annual Praying as he always lived and died under that color.

  23. Li'l Saigon Man says:

    Sonny, beautiful story…

  24. chau nguyen says:

“It shows the success of a male businessman.”

Really? So when a Catholic priest molests a young boy, he was only showing his God-inspired love to that boy? Well, Nguyen Xuan Nghia and you do have a twisted sense of morality. That sure explains a lot about these protests.

  25. Sonny Tran says:

Look at life a little more on the positive side, then you won t be so uptight sis…
A boy-toy for woman like Cheer s a good sign of success for a woman.
A trophy doll blond like Anna Nichol Smith is a good sign of success for an old millionair.
Even three playboy girlfriends is a good sign of success for a businessman Hugh Hefner.
A beautiful geisha s a definite success sign for a Japanese businessman.
But comparing some ill-minded Catholic priests to those mentioned above?….Come on…How old are you sis.? That s called abuse of power, like a cop using his gun and badge playing God with innocent people….not even remotely related.
Twisted sense of morality?….Good thing you hide behind a computer, because you might get bitch-slapped all the way back to Vietnam if you re my wife?..
Did you see me wishing you doing well in society so some day you can afford your own boytoy?..Didn t read right?.

  26. chau nguyen says:

Huh, you didn’t just call pedophiles ill-minded, as if they have some kind of disease that they can’t control. What kind of people would show sympathy to a pedophile? It’s the kind of people who think boys are their sex toys and women are just breeding machines that they can abuse anyway they wish. I belive they’re called Catholic priests and their apologists. Damn, they’re sick but the sickest of them all was John Paul. He condoned the abuse of women and children and when asked about it, he pretended it was no big deal. Who’s to say that he didn’t abuse boys himself, since he didn’t consider it a crime. Now I understand why Ngo Dinh Diem didn’t have a wife. Maybe his brothers supplied him with plenty of boys for him to play with.

  27. The Oracle says:

    Advices for the Father :

    * Having a quarrel with your own children in public is a sure sign of division and discord, you have to find a better way to handle family disputes. NOT IN PUBLIC ! ! !
    * If you can not convince your our children of your own bitter experience, then you are not qualified to convince general public of your political views. YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO HANDLE POLITICS.
    * Fighting for freedom in Vietnam is about the Vietnam NOW, not so much about your past MILITARY GLORY, not about your past kingdom.

    The Oracle knows your future.

  28. Jack Nguyen says:

Chau Nguyen, why did you bring up the topic of religion? How is that related to the protest?

  29. The Oracle says:

    * A state of war only serves as an excuse for domestic tyranny *

    Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

  30. chau nguyen says:

“why did you bring up the topic of religion?”
You don’t see the link? Nguyen Xuan Nghia abuses his mail-order bride who’s young enough to be his grandchild. Cathlic priests sexually abuse(d) boys. Sonny thinks it’s okay to buy and beat women as if they’re objects and Catholic priests who sexually abuse boys deserves our sympathy. Sonny is the missing link that connects Nguyen Xuan Nghia to the Catholic priests. There you go.

  31. Sonny Tran says:

You re the perfect example of a typical Vietnamese mentality Chau, how do you expect those protestors to sit down and do a civilized talk when they do have the exact same mindset like you?..You practice what you preach?..No?..
Let me put things in a simple and eazy to understand format here.

You label ALL Catholic Priests molesters?..That s not a very educated assumption girl.
I said only SOME ill-minded Priests, the key word s “some”.
You label me and that Nguyen Nghia guy are somehow related, let me get this straight……If i m rich enough to afford a young mistress?..I will.
And do you live in his house to know for sure how he treats his wife?…If you don t and you keep using the words “abuse” and “molested”?…That makes the readers think you re a retard.
Let me explain the relationships of those 2 words, hope you re old enough to understand.
If the Catholic priests just hugging the altar boys, some might say he s a loving caring priest, but the lawyer might translate it as inappropriate sexual contacts, or “molested” as you say.
If he handcuffs the poor guy to his bed, leather whipped the crap out of him, then trying to insert his reproductive organ in the kid s poophole?…There you go, abused and sexual molestation there?..See the difference?.
If a guy like me got handcuffed to bed and a beautiful chick like Beyonce riding me like a horse all night?..I will say it s a sexual fantasy, but if i wanna blackmailed her to make money?…and you know what the law translate that same act?..Sexually molested….See the difference again?.
And how do you know the past President Ngo Dinh Diem onle like boys?..What about girls?..Not a stubborn uptight dumb-dumb kind like you, but beautiful and smart ones?
And i m not Catholic, but since you re slamming Priests so bad?..If there re a FEW crooked monks outthere doing bad things?..Can i say ALL Buddists and even Budda are all perverts?.. See the difference between a logical convo and a street talk?..

  32. Sonny Tran says:

You act just like that guy Jose s. Chau, resort to name calling and avoiding direct answer….never spend enough time to read THOROUGHLY what others real intention was…..Sad sad sad…You know why God create mankind with two ears but only one mouth right?..
Oh….I might be wrong here…..Woman have two mouths?..Explained why they like talking and preaching more than listening?.

  33. chau nguyen says:

Isn’t it apparent that Nguyen Xuan Nghia is a child abuser? Look at the way he was handling that child at the protest and look at her body language. She was as stiff as a board and he was grabbing her hand as if his life depends on it. She was practically paralyzed by fears. Somebody who was at the protest has suggested that she was reluctant to trample on vn communist flag. From the look of the pictures out there on the net, she was scared to death to be there. Her face was obscured by her hat and het dark eyeglasses, obviously on purpose. So it’s been suggested that Nguyen Xuan Nghia had threatened her with bodily harm. That’s how the Catholic priests and people like Nghia operate, using their authority, intimidation, violence to force children to do what they don’t want to do. You never hear anyone ever complaining about Ngo Dinh Diem abusing them when they were children, do you? You know why? It’s because Diem supporters have become strong once again in Little Saigon. Just read Nguoi Viet and their many flattering articles about him. If it took the victims of Catholic priests that long to speak up about the abuses, then you can see that victims of Ngo Dinh Diem’s abuses are still fearful. It’s been exposed that the Catholic church and John Paul knew about these abuses and yet they did nothing until forced to do so. But in the meantime, they shifted these priests aroudn, allowing them to abuse more chilren. If that’s not condoning child abuses, then pigs can fly.

  34. M&M says:

Hey Sonny, are we still debating about the subject ” Freedom of Speech ” or has it switch to ” Freedom of Religion ” without my knowledge ? BTW, If anybody really know ” communism ” then they will realize that if there were any fears were shown by Mr. Nguyen’s bride is because she were afraid of what communists might do to her & her families back home if they happen to see the picture or the video.

  35. Jack Nguyen says:

Chau Nguyen, when does Nguyễn Xuân Nghĩa’s personal life become a subject of conversation? Until the man brings it up, can we talk about the real issue, Freedom of Speech? Can we be civil?

  36. Sonny Tran says:

Sorry guys….Don t know why the debate shifts to Religion and somebody s personal life either……
But it actually does have a good point…..See how Chau N. just jumped to conclution and assume all Priests are bad based on a few “pedophiles” according to her?..That s exactly what these protesters are doing. Assumtion…. A person must be a Communist if that person doesn t have a yellow and red stripes displayed at their business?..She also believes an older man with a younger wife must be a wife beater or abuser?..No concrete evidence whatsoever?..And a single man, civilians or President alike, must have more fun with young boys only?..
That s the root of all problems with our older generation, assumption and guessing only…no logical evidences needed.
I don t think this girl Chau s not one of those screaming protestor, do you?.

  37. Sonny Tran says:

And i wanna get this cleared too…
    I DON T WANNA TALK ABOUT RELIGION..PERIOD.

No topic can draw more heat than religion.

  38. Jung Kim says:

These protesters were truly hurt from Bastard Brian Doan’s perversed art project display …….he is lucky not being physically whipped by his own father.

  39. chau nguyen says:

Jack, Sonny was the one who said Nguyen Xuan Nghia paid for his oh-so-young wife. Sonny was the one who said it was ok for him to beat women. Sonny was the one who said the Catholic priests who abused boys had mental illness which implied that their sexual abuses of boys were not entirely the priests’ faults. Sonny was the one who suggested that Ngo Dinh Diem might have also abused young girls. Sonny has been the one supportive of the protestors. Nguyen Xuan Nghia’s bride’s body language suggested that she might have been forced to be there and I’m not the first one to suggest that. Who else could have influenced her. Hmm, hadn’t her husband been accused of being a communist just before this protest?
So, these are the people who are not practicing what they preach. That’s a very twisted sense of morality.

  40. Sonny Tran says:

And one more thing, that Nghia guy s wife is not a child……..
She s a grown-up woman. And i m willing to bet anything you re younger than her, based on your posts here.
    I m not assuming?..Guessing?..

  41. Sonny Tran says:

Where in all my posts here did you see the word “beat” woman Chau?..

  42. chau nguyen says:

    http://www.nguoi-viet.com/absolutenm/anmviewer.asp?a=91023&z=3
pic caption: Luật Sư Nguyễn Xuân Nghĩa (phải) nắm tay một cô gái giẫm lên cờ CSVN.

Look at that iron grip. Didn’t someone say Nguyen Xuan Nghia is a martial arts expert. His bride must have been scared to death.

  43. chau nguyen says:

“because you might get bitch-slapped all the way back to Vietnam if you re my wife”

  44. Sonny Tran says:

    Chau,
You really love to use the words “abused” and “molested”?..What was wrong with you when you were young? Why are you so in love to label others “abusers” and “molesters”..So apparently my explaining of being abused and accusing of being abused didn t go through your head?.
An educated convo only happens if other party try not to assume things just based purely on observation?..And you show the mentality of those you critisized?..

  45. chau nguyen says:

    All right, I’ll quit hahaha.

  46. Sonny Tran says:

“because you might get bitch-slapped all the way back to Vietnam if you re my wife”

My wife have always talked to me as a friend, everything based on concrete evidences…She never assumes or imagines stuffs like you. Keep that in mind if you happen to get married.

And yes, i d be scared shitless like that girl if i got caught on camera knowing that my family still back in Vietnam…But beating her?..No way.

  47. chau nguyen says:

So it was all miscommunication and misunderstanding. okie dokie

Everyone, just remember:martial art expert Nguyen Xuan Nghia’s IRON GRIP.

  48. Sonny Tran says:

Don t go yet cutie…You haven t answered my quetion yet about those monks?..
If i give you a few examples of crooked monks?..Is this OKed to call all Buddists and the big guy Buddha perverts?..Wanna hear it from you so i can paste and repost it again?..I m doing exactly what you re doing. Assumption.

  49. Ryan_SJ says:

Maybe she’s not scare, just embarrassed to be associated with something that is ridiculous.

Viet people are good at tearing each other down but are not very good at being supportive to each other.
