As previously reported by the Bolsavik here, 50-year-old Phuong Nguyen Le was so angry the U.S. Consulate in Saigon rejected his wife’s immigration application, that he bit off his left thumb and wrote a letter in blood threatening to decapiate the Consular Section Chief Charles Bennett. He also threatened to commit a massacre worse than the one at Virginia Tech. Then he sent the blood letter to his Congressman, Robert C. Scott (D-Va).
Yesterday, Le pleaded guilty in federal court in Richmond (pictured) to one count of sending a threatening communication, reports the Richmond Times-Dispatch here.
Quote:
Le’s lawyer, Amy Leigh Austin, said the crime was the result of stress. Le told Lauck he was receiving counseling at the jail where he is being held. Though he understands and reads and writes English, Le, a U.S. citizen, was assisted by a translator.
Le didn’t need a translator when he wrote his letter, which includes the line “I swear if I see that (bleep) I’ll cut his head off.”
It is unclear whether Le has any other family besides the wife in Vietnam.

The man needs counseling…It is a lose-lose situation. Both lives are ruined now.
