Viet allegedly fired shot at reality-TV star
April 22nd, 2009
A bounty hunter, star of a reality-TV series on A&E, has accused a Viet of shooting at him, resulting in the man being charged with attempted homicide, reports the Colorado Springs Gazette here.
Last night at about 7:15 pm, Duane “Dog” Chapman (at center in picture), star of the reality show “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” and bail bondsman Bobby Brown were trying to catch Hoang Nguyen, 35, who has several warrants out for his arrest.
According to Chapman, as they were closing in on Nguyen, Nguyen fired at least one shot from a handgun, missed, then fled on a motorcycle.
No one injured. A camera crew was with Chapman at the time, but they had no tape of the shooting.
The pair shot back at Nguyen using … paintball guns. They missed too.
Later on, at around 1am, “Dog” Chapman tracked down Nguyen again and arrested him without incident.
The gossip show TMZ is reporting here that Nguyen has been charged with attempted homicide. However, police told TMZ “no gun was found on Hoang Nguyen’s person, and they’ve yet to find a bullet hole or shell casing at the scene.”
Chapman is originally from Colorado Springs and his TV show is frequently filmed there.
Bobby Brown is a bailbondsman, not in the picture above and not part of Dog’s posse. However, he has often teamed up with Chapman on “Dog the Bounty Hunter” to hunt down fugitives.
Check out the video report on local TV station KGMB9 here. It shows images of a Pho place three blocks away from the scene of the alleged shooting. The video, however, does not say why the restaurant is shown. What’s the point of showing a Vietnamese business on a piece about a Vietnamese shooting a firearm, and not explain why?

no gun or bullet hole? duane “dog” chapman has no credibility to begin with and if nguyen did actually shoot at him it’s a damn shame he missed.

Was he eating a bowl of Pho while foaming at the mouth about how he was surrounded by communists? LOL

I think so too. I think the bounty hunter made up the whole story. Hoang Nguyen is innocent.

Dog The Bounty Hunter sure makes sense, going around town catching fugitives with paintball guns. Is he tracking down blind and retarded criminals who don’t know that toy guns have a red tip? Every time I try watching that stupid show, I feel a whole lot better knowing that I am not him, Dog. But then again, he is laughing all the way to the bank…

I agree, Dog is a tool… but a well paid tool!
