Quang X. Pham also aims for Loretta’s seat
May 11th, 2009Quang X. Pham, the former Navy aviator who introduced John McCain to the Vietnamese-American community in 2000, is throwing his hat in the ring and telling the OC Register’s Martin Wisckol here that he too will run for U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez’s Congressional seat.
And so are met the expectations of two men considered most likely to run for Congress. Prior to Pham contacting Wisckol, Assemblyman Van Tran had already announced his intention (here). Tran and Pham are the two Viets most observers have expected to run for federal office.
The two men, however, took different routes there. While Tran was being the good political soldier, working his way up the GOP ladder, Pham was in the military, flying combat aircrafts and writing about it. While Tran half-heartedly ran a solo law practice, biding his time for political glory, Pham ran his own pharmaceutical marketing company.
In the Viet community, Pham is celebrated as a particularly articulate bilingual speaker who proudly wears on his sleeve both his military service in the U.S. and his heritage as the son of a South Vietnamese military officer. Both elements figured prominently in Pham’s book A Sense of Duty: My Father, My American Journey. He has his own web site here.
Outside of the circle of the more attentive observers, however, Pham does not have a lot of name recognition. Of the people who do know of him, however, most have known for a long time that Pham harbors dreams of being a Congressman. As reported on this site here, last year Pham attended an exclusive bipartisan seminar intended to prepare candidates for Congressional race.
Since Pham is registered “decline-to-state” but has conservative/libertarian/free market/strong defense tendencies, most people have not expected him to fight an incumbent Republican. Most bets have been on Loretta Sanchez’s seat.
Most observers, however, did not expect Pham to run in 2010. Tran’s announcement has apparently forced Pham’s hands and prompted him to run now rather than later.
In 2000, when McCain braved the controversy over his use of an anti-Asian racial epithet and came to Little Saigon, it was Pham who introduced him to the crowd. That’s Pham in this YouTube video, starting at around 1:38. Away from the stage, though, some unfortunate events happened at that rally; read more here.

Quang who????? What did he do for the community????
May 11th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
Give him a chance or is this about doing favors? If so, why don’t the people have the courage and say that their vote is for sale? More honest, right?

Thank you so much for your decision to run anh Quang !!! You’ll have my family & all my relatives’ support, that should be at least 20 votes already.

EDUCATION :
“The third challenge we must address is the urgent need to expand the promise of education in America.
In a global economy where the most valuable skill you can sell is your knowledge, a good education is no longer just a pathway to opportunity - it is a pre-requisite.
Right now, three-quarters of the fastest-growing occupations require more than a high school diploma. And yet, just over half of our citizens have that level of education. We have one of the highest high school dropout rates of any industrialized nation. And half of the students who begin college never finish.
This is a prescription for economic decline, because we know the countries that out-teach us today will out-compete us tomorrow. That is why it will be the goal of this administration to ensure that every child has access to a complete and competitive education - from the day they are born to the day they begin a career”

President-elect Barack Obama and his Korean-American advisor Eugene Kang :
http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/special/2009/05/178_36637.html
A second-generation Korean-American, he has been a close advisor to Obama since the early days of his presidential campaign two years ago.
Kang, 24, is described as a close confidant to Obama and was often seen accompanying him on the campaign trail. He was one of 14 members of the “Obama Exploratory Committee” political division in Chicago and formed an online community for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, urging fellow second-generation Asian Americans to vote for the Illinois senator.
In 2005, while still in college, Kang unsuccessfully ran for a city council seat in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he was born.
“With Barack Obama, we have a truly unique candidate for our community. A candidate with an unparalleled personal connection and understanding of our needs and our culture,” Kang said in support of Obama.
In addition to Kang, several other Korean-Americans played major roles in the Obama camp during the campaign, including Betsy Kim, deputy director of Obama’s Asian-American and Pacific Islander voter outreach effort, and Kim Dong-suk, who worked as a voting director. Jun Choi, mayor of Edison, New Jersey, and Sam Yoon, city councilor of Boston, are also influential Korean-American politicians who have long supported Obama.

Quang Pham has been waiting to run for this office for the last 5+ years and he deserve a fair shot at this post.
I am positive he will receive strong support at this time around. People strongly desire for a new blood in Loretta’s district. I think both Quang Pham and Assemblyman Van Tran offers us a good choice options.
Go viet american leaders.

Vietnamese community in California :
* Most Vietnamese nail workers work for cash or as independent contractors.
* Most Vietnamese restaurant workers work for cash or as independent contractors.
* Most Vietnamese business owners work as sole proprietors.
* Most Vietnamese real estate agents work as independent contractors.
* Most Vietnamese manual construction workers work for cash or as sole proprietors.
They are not qualified for un-employment benefits and assistance.
The jobless rate within the Vietnamese community in California should be around 15% to 20% right now.

May 12th, 2009 at 10:41 am
This is good news for Van Tran, bad news for Loretta. If Quang Pham qualifies with the signatures as an independent candidate, which is a very tall and expensive order, he’s going to have to run on the theme of change against the incumbent. Guess who’s the incumbent sitting in that seat for 14 years now?
May 12th, 2009 at 10:53 am
I agree. The change has to come in Santa Ana CD. No more Loretta!
May 12th, 2009 at 11:14 am
Ha ha! Someone who used to be a marine and now is an investor is the best candidate for the betterment of working people? Sounds like John McCain, except this one hasn’t married an old girl with ties to a beer company!

Oh no, another rePUBICan Viet running for office!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 12th, 2009 at 11:33 am
OC Devilcrat, are you talking about hormone high/ imbalanced Loretta hunting for young hunks? or a depleted/weak old man who can bank roll her political ambition?
May 12th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Oh yes, another viet american runnig for public office!
May 12th, 2009 at 11:43 am
At least she is not all betraying the interest of other ethnic minorities!
Japanese and Chinese Americans are known for their intellectual inclination, the Vietnamese for their military and anti-progress orientation! Not to mention being God-crazed, just like most Philipinos and Koreans!
May 12th, 2009 at 11:53 am
All I ever hear from others and Quang X Pham himself are 3 things: Quang X Pham being an Ex-Naval Aviator or a Marine chopper pilot, he wrote a book, an entrepreneur. Come on folks, here in America even a dog can get a sports license pilot if he could pass a simple medical exam.
May 12th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
If both Van Tran and Quang Pham run for the same seat, they will divide the votes (especially Vietnamese American votes) and they both will loose to Sanchez. If one of them decide to drop the race and endorse the other one to run, Sanchez will surely loose to that person. In this case, I think Van Tran should drop the race, go for another the seat, and endore Quang Pham to run for district 47. That will be Sanchez’s worst nightmare.
May 12th, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Soooooo, what have you done lately Trotdzaiski ? Whenever the dog can get a sport license pilot may be you should ride with it ??
May 12th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
Well said vietvoter! That’s such a great suggestion, now if only Van Tran could be wise & take that into a consideration.
May 12th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
Well said anti vet voter! Better suggestion is to have Loretta resign from her seat now and for sure we’ll have either Pham or Assemblyman Van Tran taking over. Sharp!

I’m a Flight Instructor with 9500hrs, if I could teach a dog how to fly then teaching you should be 1/2 as easy. My message is toward my disapproval of Quang X Pham’s showy attitude but not targeting at you or anyone else on this board. Quang and I are friends and I would vote for him if he’s targeting the so many social issues and not concentrating so much on his just average achievements. Peace out and now I’m going to Ronald McDonald’s house to volunteer. Is that good enough for you?

If Quang Pham runs as an independent, there will be a Vietnamese vote split that benefits Loretta Sanchez. Quang Pham says he will re-register as a Republican if Van Tran pulls out. Would love to be a fly on the wall for that clash of the egos powwow.

OC Devilcrat, never mind Troutboshitsky, tell your lady Loretta to step down before she is removed by the voters.
May 12th, 2009 at 1:42 pm
D Dao,
Your thinking is wishful and naive. Loretta Sanchez would be the only loser with Quang Pham in the race. He’s running against an incumbent, not Van Tran. Those who will vote for Tran will stay with Tran. Those who are against Tran and Sanchez, will go with Pham. Either way, Sanchez loses because she’s the incumbent. Both Tran and Pham are afterall, running against an incumbent.
May 12th, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Dinky Dong has some brain and he/she is correct.
Go viet!
May 12th, 2009 at 2:55 pm
I will attempt to handicap this race :
* Loretta Sanchez has 51% chance, incumbent’s advantage, name recognition, active participation in Vietnamese community, Democratic machine, Obama coattail.
* Van Tran has 30% chance. Name recognition, Republican machine, strong community ties.
* Quang Pham has 20% chance. National figure with little local credentials, Military background.
Mr. Quang Pham knows fully well of this odds; However, it is his first run for a public office, win or lose, any many more will come.

May 12th, 2009 at 6:27 pm
- In the Democrat’s primary, Loretta Sanchez will win the nomination.
- In the Repubican’s primary, Van Tran will win the nomination easily over Quang Pham.
- In the past general election of 2006, Loretta Sanchez won 62% of the votes against an unknown, unworthy opponent Tan Nguyen with 38% of the votes.
- In the general election of 2010, Quang Pham will resort to run as Independent and gathering about 5% of the votes. This time around, Loretta Sanchez will face a well-known, worthy opponent Van Tran, therefore she would get about 45% of the votes. For Van Tran, he will come out a victor with about 50% of the votes.
PS: These are my unbiased analysis, I like Loretta a lot but the odds are against her.
May 12th, 2009 at 8:40 pm
As an independent, QX Pham will never win against a Republican or Democrat.
May 12th, 2009 at 9:03 pm
Jung Jesus Kim,
You are more into the childish cowboy/Indian ,win/lose than the big picture. Most democrat representatives will look out for ordinary citizens’well-being such as education, health care, environment, etc while Republicans protect special interest at all prices. I thought as a minority yourself, you got that long ago. By contrast, as a result of living in the political ghetto of Southern California, you’s rather go for the conservative label and overlook the real purpose of sending someone who could represent your interest in the legislature. Someone who is a Latina would certainly fight for working people as opposed to someone whose upbringing revolved around the hatred and misunderstanding that came out of the Vietnam war. I wouldn’t vote for those men just because they have similar biological make-ups. In your case, it’s probably a little more than that because you certainly got the hot for the pilot. The white Republicans must love someone like you who fall into their traps of setting minorities up against one another. If someday you have children and need decent public education, decent and affordable healthcare and fight against the greedy developers who want to build a highway above your house, I doubt if your white daddies in the Republican Party will even want to listen to you, even if you beg to be their yellow concubine!
May 12th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Let forget which political party is right or wrong for a moment and concentrate on which person will get the support of the people.
- Quang Pham is virtually unkown to the political arena and rarely participating in community events.
- Loretta Sanchez has done a lot of good deeds especially to the Vietnamese community.
- Van Tran has done quite well in the Assembly for both of the American & Vietnamese communities.
There is one powerful factor that could decide the race for Van Tran: Unity.
Vietnamese Democrats & Republicans alike will take this golden oppurtunity to put a 2nd Vietnamese congressman into the Capitol. A similar situation in 2007 when Vietnamese Democrats & Republicans united to vote for the first Vietnamese Supervisor in OC.
May 13th, 2009 at 12:48 am
Excuse me for saying this OC Democrat but why don’t you look around and see who are actually benefit from all the welfare, healthcare & education benefit ? ” the non working class ” that’s who ! All of us working class here do not get anything out of it and we are the one who paying all the taxes in this country. All the things you’ve mentioned above need to have money in order to do it so where do you think all the money come from ? For sure it didn’t come from people who too lazy to go to work, or those that didn’t even want to stay in school to get a better education in order to get a good job, or those working for cash so they don’t have to pay taxes and continue getting welfare, housing and food stamps. Yah, you Democrats are like Socialists aka Communists … Spread the wealth . . . ( just as long is not your wealth ) then it’s ok . What a laugh ! Why don’t all of you Democrats wake up and be realistic for once. Socialism will never work in real life because there will always people who keep sitting there wanting to take & take but won’t get up on their ass to give it back .
May 13th, 2009 at 5:31 am
Comrade Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger is the most corrupted communist in the world right now. His May special election, with the boiler room Republican collaborators is another robbery of people money.
Comrade Bush was more socialist than the the Vietnamese communist. Robbing money from the poor to pay for the rich.
Republican and Democrat parties have turned this country into a communist state, more corrupt than Vietnam.
You all should wake you ! ! !
Welcome to the new People’s Republic of Amerika.

* “Spreading the wealth ” was one of John McCain’s major plunders.
* It is so unintelligent to recycle the failed and worn-out rhetorics.
* Comrade Arnold was elected Governor to fix the out-of-control state spendings in 2003. Everything he promised a pack of lies.
* I do not see any different between a republican and a communist
* Do not believe what a republican tells you, but watch what he/she does in the back-door chamber.

Voting NO on this special election is the only way to stop a communist agenda.
May 13th, 2009 at 6:10 am
No, OC Republican sounds like Sarah Palin who tried to scare people away from Obama during the Presidential Campaign. Just because the Democrats want to invest in social and human affairs doen’t mean they are communist. Tell me, what communist countries (VN, Cuba, North Korea) have social network like Social Security or a tax system that helps maintain and improve the roads, police, fire department, public education, library, public hospital, etc? The only countries that have such civilized networks are Western Europe, the Scandinavia, Japan and to a lesser extent, the USA. Hence, having a government and a legislature that take of the people is not a communist value (although technically, it’s supposed to be the other way around).
Imagine a country that adheres strictly to Republicanism: every body lives in his/her own estate, holding on to their guns, pays big money to hire private tutors for their kids, has own private hospital and fire department in the backyard, etc You might ask who would benefit from such a system: those who make billions from selling weapons (for wars that they fabricated), dealing automobiles and builidng more and more highways(hence they need to fight off environmental groups to destroy woods and lakes and rivers)… If I were Bush, Cheney, etc I might vote for the Rep too, but I would still be in the minority (of billionaires). The reason they have succeeded in some elections was thanks to the fear and lies that they spread. Lies and fear always appeal to certain groups of voters, such as those who think they are constantly pursued by the communists, or that the government will take away all their guns, or the children will be brainwashed into being gay, or Jesus is coming back to punish those who don’t vote Republican… In other words, nuts.
Labeling someone a communist or socialist is easy yet shallow (just like that Sarah Palin whose relatives have been caught dealing drugs and breaking into people’s houses to steal).Of course, not all Republicans resort to name-calling (communist, socialist, etc) except for those that belong to the bottom of the barrel such as that lady from Alaska. Unfortunately, most Vietnamese conservatives’ politics concur with her, therefore give the whole “commun(is)ty” of OC Republicans a bad name.

May 13th, 2009 at 6:51 am
Handicap, verb. :
* to attempt to predict the winner of (a contest, esp. a horse race), as by comparing past performances of the contestants.
* to assign odds for or against (any particular contestant) to win a contest or series of contests: He handicapped the Yankees at 2-to-1 to take the series from the Cardinals.

* You should be forewarned that your next battle is going to be more brutal than your last ones. Bullets of political corruption are flying everywhere.
* Your next operation is not pacification, not mobilization of the people.
* Your most potent weapon is not what you have now, but what the people will give you. Ask for it.

By your respond to the word ” handicap “, we all know why you’re Democrat !
I suggest you spend a little bit more time learning about Democrat Party then you’d be able to understand why they were refer as Socialist. That wasn’t name calling, that’s the fact even your children know that because they should have learned that in their schools .

I’m now convinced that my vote should go to Quang X. Pham! Congrats, Mr. Pham!
May 13th, 2009 at 9:35 am
OC Democrat,
As a Democrat, please vote for Quang Pham. That’s a vote lost for Sanchez and a net gain for Van Tran.

I am aware that the political battlefield is littered with ex-military types: Nguyen Van Thieu, Nguyen Cao Ky, Bob Dole, Oliver North, Wesley Clark, John Kerry, Tammy Duckworth and John McCain Only a handful of Fightin’ Dems have been elected.
It takes a different kind of moral fiber.
May 13th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
The real problem with Democratic party is about “confusion”. They are confused about what is common sense to a 5yr old child.
May 13th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
The real problem with Republican party is about “senility”. They are so senile about what is common sense to a 95 year-old.
May 13th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
We should realized that it’s the politician who has made their political looks bad & not the party itself. Both Dem & Rep have good & bad in them so we should cast our vote carefully & try our best judment to pick the right candidate. They all promised us so many things but the question is can they deliver ?
May 13th, 2009 at 1:09 pm
One of the reason the government can’t work is because the people want welfare, healcare & education funding but don’t want to pay any taxes so they just sit back & relax then continue collecting the welfare check & let the Republican figure it out how to deal with the budget.

Is that why when Bush arrived in the White House, he inherited a huge budget surplus so that he could award outrageously expensive and wasteful contracts to private torturers and “military supplies companies”? I’d love to have some of that money right now )-:
But on a second thought, I agree with you guys, it’d be a nice act of balance to have more Republicans in the legislative branch since we already have a black president.
With Nancy P.ssy in power, soon this country will fly the Mexican flag. They Mexicans should know that if they can’t leave their countries legally then stay home. And once they get here, they better keep their records clean instead of cheating on medicare, welfare, or keep flying their Mexican flag next to the American flag at their meetings and events. We ain’t need no immigrant to wave 2 flags in our faces no more!

My grandparents are in their 70s now and very feeble. They can’t afford their bypass surgeries without the state’s subsidy yet their doctors kept telling them off because the cost go beyond what the state fund allows. Could someone please help me decide who to vote for this time around so that their situation won’t get worse? It’s not like my grandparents want to have surgeries for fun everyday.
My husband and I are good citizens with great work ethics yet still can’t pay for everything independently. We’ve been financially stressed due to paying for our kids’ private school ’cause public schools have been pretty much abandonned. And now this financial mess!

Will Van Tran & Quang Pham attend ?
May 14th, 2009 at 10:43 am
Country First,
Van Tran is busy with real legislative work to promote jobs and economic opportunities in the state.
Quang Pham is busy working in his company to contribute to the state’s economy.
Loretta Sanchez and Lou Correa are busy campaigning and pandering so that they can protect their own jobs.
The voters can see through blatant political pandering for votes by these Latino politicians.
May 14th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Country First, you must be a Viet so there’s no way you should be using Country First. Try using Country Lost.
May 14th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Country First is little bit drunk today. A hard working people have daily jobs and works to finish.
May 14th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
Country First is in reference to John McCain’s slogan, USA First 2009
* Any way, your suggestion of Country Lost is really good, I will use it sometimes.
May 14th, 2009 at 12:29 pm
** Most politicians learn to master the art of being every where all at once. Especially with surrogates, or videos.

” political triangulation ”
I would be VERY surprised if you are not familiar with this term.
May 14th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
VietKieu54,
On second thought, I am not sure if COUNTRY LOST is such a good label. The word LOST is too pessimistic and definitive, where as I am more hopeful Vietnam could be restored.
What do you think ?
May 14th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
Country First, I appreciate your contribution to this blog and matter of fact, you are pretty keen on economical issues. However, I hope to see more encouraging posts for our viet candidates …..running to oust Loretta.
It’s about time to have a good viet american representing our OC community’s interests at Washington DC.

* After a long year of being part of last year rough and brutal campaign battle, I am taking a sabbatical before the next election cycle.
* It is disappointing to see many Vietnamese leaders being trapped in parochial issues, and fail to see the bing picture.
* Battle ground has shift significantly with the last election. If you do not realize it, you reserve to loss. Do not try to recycle the last election rhetoric, different time with different issues.
* I am looking for a new leadership.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Country First, stop beating around the bushes and help our candidate to win. We all understand today’s most important issue is our troubled economy and high unemployment rate.
* United and we shall taste the victory.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
I really enjoy the common sense and straight talk here! Had everybody talked and reasoned the way most of us do here, we wouldn’t have lost the past election. People made fun of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plummer but I think we need more of those instead of those “liberal intellectual” from Harvard, MIT and Columbia University who brag about speaking 3,4 languages, owning 3,4 advanced degrees and working in the slum of big cities and think they are entitled to run the country. We need real people who own real businesses in beer and petrolem like Bush and McCain to rescue this doomed economy!
May 14th, 2009 at 4:54 pm
* Sorry to disappoint you; Behind Sasah Palin and Joe the Plumber, there were an army of top elite nerds from Stanford, MIT, U of Chicago.
* Their daily routines would to survey and analyze crowd responses to certain words, phrases, concepts, and personalities.
* What you see is the final product ( Sara Palin ) of a long assembly line.
May 14th, 2009 at 5:17 pm
The House is full of Democrats, 256 to be exact, compare to 178 Republicans.
One less Democrat in the House won’t hurt the U.S. social agendas but one more Vietnamese American in the House would give tremendous credence to the Vietnamese comunity.
It would open many doors for the next generation of Vietnamese American. Don’t be selfish and think of your children first!
P.S.: I’m a lifelong Democrat.

May 14th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
@ VN
Can you explain what did you mean when you stated ” Van Tran has done quite well in the Assembly . . . ” ?
May 14th, 2009 at 8:14 pm
Mr. Quang Pham
* Being an unknown has certain advantages, Obama came out from no where, taking advantage of the economic crisis.
* He has to maneuver around a few popular issues, and stress on NEW solution with FRESH thinking, and with BUSINESS executive skills.
* He should announce his candidacy at a military housing complex, a small manufacturing plant, and at the Vietnamese soldier memorial.
* More frequent patronage to community events should yield enormous goodwill.
* He should clearly elaborate his plan of action to advance the needs of the people in Southern California.
* Most important of all, he has to show empathy to the concerns of common folks, and the willingness to help those in need.
* Forming a strong alliance with military families, establishing financial support from business community, and a gradual re-integration into Vietnamese community.
May 14th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Van Tran has done quite well in the Assembly:
For himself: He elevated through the ranks.
“Van serves as the vice-chair of the Judiciary Committee. He also serves on the Banking and Finance and Governmental Organization Committees. Because Assemblyman Tran knows that International trade means good jobs in technology, computers, high tech and the other important industries of today and tomorrow, he is proud to serve as the Chairman of the Assembly Select Committee on International Trade. Additionally, he is a member of the Select Committee on Community Colleges and co-Chair of the Asian Pacific Islander Joint Caucus. He currently serves as an Assistant Republican Leader in the Assembly.”
For the people: He authored several bills, including AB2214 Rice cakes & Moon cakes.
“Since his election to the Assembly, Van has made quick work to advance common-sense solutions to some of the biggest problems facing California. His efforts include Assembly Bill 199, an act to expand the number of Enterprise Zones in California and help create new jobs, and Assembly Bill 38, cutting the excessive salary for members of part-time boards and commissions, saving California over $5 million per year. Van’s agenda includes balancing the budget deficit through spending restraint, eliminating waste in the bureaucracy, and improving our infrastructure, particularly roads and highways.”
His activitives are too many to count, here’s the link:

May 14th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
Don’t even bother to talk about Quang Pham being an Indedent candidate for anything. He needs to qualify as a candidate, first. This in itself is a HUGE hurdle.
May 14th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
VN & Independent Voter, you both sounded like very well Trannies . Mr. Van Tran said ” good job ” !
May 14th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
To Country First,
I don’t mind Quang Pham being the 3rd Vietnamese congressman a few years from now in another district, first thing first, he has to get involved in politics.
To say Mr. Obama was an unknown and came out of nowhere was an insult to him.
Mr. Obama worked really hard to build his political career:
- He was a community organizer in his early days.
- He was a three terms Illinois State Senator.
- He was a keynote speaker in primetime at DNC 2004, by then almost everyone in the country knew of him.
- He was elected to the Senate soon after his firery speech at the convention.
- He was elected President finally.
May 15th, 2009 at 5:22 am
NV,
I beg your pardon for my negligence.

“Their daily routines would to survey and analyze crowd responses to certain words, phrases, concepts, and personalities.
* What you see is the final product ( Sara Palin ) of a long assembly line.”
The glitches are right there! We should have had a clearer goal of what population we wanted to reach and how. If I have learned anything from the last election, it’s that we lost because we couldn’t reach across the aisle.
While traditionally the right-wing religious, the less-educated and the gun owners in the rural areas are the most loyal Republicans who do the dirtiest work, we can’t just depend on them during political hard time. We should reach out those that aren’t friendly to the Republican party : human rights organization, feminists, homosexuals, environmental agencies, community organizers, handicap advocates, etc (not that we have to be their friends). I had no problem with Sarah Palin and Joe the Plummer but weren’t we preaching to the pope (figuratively speaking)?

The Assembly Public Safety Committee passed AB 1392 by Assemblyman Van Tran (R-Garden Grove), a measure to address the growing scourge of graffiti in many of our communities. Beyond the physical and economic damages, graffiti has been recognized by the law enforcement community as a ´gateway crime.´ Without fail, these offenders graduate to more serious crimes and gang activity.
“Fighting crime is a top responsibility of the state and I will continue working for tough laws that lock up gang members,” said Tran. “All the prosperity in the world is meaningless if our families don´t feel safe at home.”
May 15th, 2009 at 7:53 am
In my opinion, you have to be a crook in order for you to associate with crook ? We should question Mr. Van Tran’s moral value & integrity since he’s the one being marry to a criminal. Plus the rest of his Trannies associates don’t have a good reputation either. To have someone like that representing our government is scary .
May 15th, 2009 at 7:58 am
Hah, that’s really funny ! I suggest Mr. Van Tran should start his ” fighting crime ” in his own house. If he can’t stop his own wife from committing a crime how is he going to fight crime outside his home? What a laugh !!

We, the voters are not naive as we use to be so if anything we want to know about our candidates we will know how to get it and you can be sure that we will put all that info into consideration before casting our votes. In the mean time you could shut your pipe hole & try not to make Van look worse than he already is.

Arrepentido para el ruido. !
We have a favor to ask you, Art.
Chinese labor practice in Vietnam has become a major concern for all Vietnamese.
A friend of mine, a Japanese manager working in MC & TJ, tells me that Mexican workers are very apprehensive of Chinese companies in Mexico.
How can we get more accurate and more comprehensive data about the Chinese labor practice in Mexico ?
Mil gracias, mi amigo ! ! !

OC Citizen,
Like Jose s., do you also beat your wife or domestic partner at home too, or do you beat yourself with your hands?
The Democrats’ fear and loathing of Assemblyman Van Tran is hilarious. He must be doing a lot of things right.
Yes, you are not as “naive as you used to be”, but you are just plain stupid as always. Read your own comments and see how dumb you are.
Tramn must begettignunder Democrats’ skin. Good!

Art Pritzel belongs in his liberal blog for sure! We don’t need any more liberal to tell us that homosexuality and graffiti should be welcome in America! It’s time to go back to basics and think what our founding fathers really wanted this country to be! We didn’t have sex ed or welfare yet back then there were far less unwanted pregnancy or homosexual cases or divorced welfare queens!

May 15th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
I think you’re aiming at the wrong target Jung Kim. Art is not the only one who knows the truth about the Trannies. IF the Trannies didn’t commit any dirty works then they shouldn’t have to worry about it … but that will be a BIG IF . So for you keep trying to shut people up with your stupid comments, there will be more reasons people will want to know about it. Plus there are enough crooks in Washington we don’t need to send one more up there.
May 15th, 2009 at 1:02 pm
OC Mexico Citizen, zip up dirty mouth before we deport you back home.
Hey idiot, you don’t like our respected assemblyman working at Sacramento and you hate people/congressmen from Washington……who do you like then? Leaders from drug cartel?
Be positive my child! Not many, but there are still few good ones around!
Look at this wonderful anti graffiti bill by our viet american assemblyman Van Tran! We are supporting him all the way!
May 15th, 2009 at 1:13 pm
OC Mexico Citizen, pathetic anti viet Art knows only to lie and advertise his defunct site. This con artist picks on all of our elected viet officials with no reason …….other than not endorsing him during the campaign season!
Art Pedroza surely shows less class than a stray DOG over there!

Funny how some people living in America but wouldn’t give up speaking Mexican and care more about their South-of-the-border’s interest. They reap the benefit of living in this God’s country but even when comes election time only think about what’s best for their lil community’s politics. We don’t need that kind and their lil flags all over America!
It breaks my heart to see how America has gone downhill only in just a decade: family values are looked down upon, God is banned in public places, homosexual messages are piped into good old moral families’living room, shopping malls are full of foreign restaurants, terrorists get special treatments with our tax money and the list goes on and on… Sometimes I don’t even recognize my own country or neighbors! If you don’t believe me, just look at who we got for “president”!!!

Little Saigon Inside is a blog that very few people read because it has no credibility. It’s from Northern CA. Started by a Vietnamese jerk name Linh aka John Vu. Vinh Nguyen is actually Linh aka, John Vu. There is no Vinh Nguyen writing crap on a blog with a readership of 5 people.
This guy is a Democrat, and a hateful person. He fails in almost everything he does. Just reading his blog, you can tell that he likes to make up stories and slander people who he is jealous with because he is a failure in his family’s eyes. I have seen him at several community events in the past few months, Linh aka John Vu, needs psychiatric help more than anything else.

No one know who Dina is until she tried to run for city council position and people still voted for her ? And did they give a damn that she has a shady background & no moral value ? So if someone like her could be elected, I’m sure Quang has no problem running in this race.
May 15th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
OC Immigrant,
What lies & slander were you referring to ? I can’t wait for your answer on this one.
May 15th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
I’m a Democrat and I’m not a hateful person, even though Republican’s philosophy is opposite of mine, I still find some good and decent values in it.
Now, our common goal is this: Do whatever we can to elect a 2nd Vietnamese American into the House of Representative. Blood is thicker than water!
May 15th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
OC Citizen,
Read your post again. You slander others when you call them name. It’s just your lack of ability to come up with a coherent response. You are just a hopeless person who is lost in your own frustration and anger.
You make up stories when you call your opponents corrupt, without facts.
Didn’t your parents teach you any manners and how to be a decent human being?
May 15th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
Yes, by all means. Quang Pham should run. He will lose bad and he will draw more votes from Incumbent Loretta Sanchez.
May 15th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
I’m asking you again OC Immigrant, what lies & slanders were you referring to? You know there were no lies because you couldn’t prove it and the slanders were my answers to the Trannies. Why don’t you go ask them why were they always calling people names whenever some one making a comment about the Trannies . Oh, don’t bother to answer my question because I already know the answer, because you’re of them.
May 15th, 2009 at 11:07 pm
For Van’s sake, I hope your prediction turn out right OC Republican.
May 15th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Since Quang Pham is a Republican in hiding(non-declared) he will take votes from the eventual nominee Van Tran, if he decided to run as Independent. Quang Pham lives in south OC and surrounded with all Republican friends, I think he should run in a different district and becoming a 3rd Vietnamese Congressman.
The more Vietnamese Americans in Congress the better for Vietnamese community!
May 16th, 2009 at 12:07 am
Okay OC Citizen,
Calling your opponents mad dogs is really classy and educated of you. How do justify that? Didn’t your parents teach you not to swear and use foul language against people you don’t agree with?
Where’s the corruption? The only corruption going on is in your head. Again, name calling really doesn’t break anybody’s bones. Calling people part of this or that group is so childish of you.
BTW, how do you prove a fantasy coming from your own imagination?
May 16th, 2009 at 12:13 am
NV,
I agree with you about Quang Pham. He should run in South County where he works and live for th past 14-16 years. There’s plenty of room for everybody who want to serve. The problem with the Vietnamese is that they like to copycat each other. They are the victims of their own success.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:08 am
This individual calling himself “OC Citizen” has no shame, who has nothing good to write about anyone. The readers should just disregard OC Citizen’s discredited posts.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:17 am
Can you spare a dollar, brother ?
May 16th, 2009 at 8:24 am
OC Immigrant,
You should go back to school & get yourself educated before you come back in here & post your stupid comments. Go back & read all my posts and tell me where did I mention the word ” corrupt “. Try to understand what you’ve read first before making a comment. Didn’t your parents teach you ” to think before you talk ” ? I don’t see you tried to educate Jung Kim whenever he (she ) using the foul language. Oh, I forget cause you’re one of them. And Viet Voter, the only people that have no shame are those you’re trying to support . Talking bout ” crime ” when they are the one who’s being married to a criminal.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:26 am
Sure, OC homeless. Meet me at the intersection of Brookhurst and Westminster at around lunch time. I am planning to get a Lee’s sandwich and drop a dollar in your cup on my way out.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:34 am
There you go with your discredited posts again, OC Citizen, drooling at the mouth with your sour response.
You should go to church or to a temple to pray and meditate. I sense odorous vibes coming from you. It’s the same nasty vibes that other people do not want to be near you. Very ugly indeed.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:36 am
Oh, OC Citizen, head to the beach and get some fresh air. Just don’t go into the water. You might drown or get eaten by a shark. Just a friendly reminder to you, OC Citzen. Sharks love “dark” meat.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:43 am
Thanks , brother Viet Voter.
I ‘ll be there, the dwarf with gold teeth and tin cup.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:55 am
Attention everyone ! I’m the only one in here that can swear, use foul language & calling people name in any way I want because I have a permit for it. Any body else can do it at their own risk & will be attack by my mad dogs. They just love ” dark ” meat.
May 16th, 2009 at 9:00 am
Did cat got your tongue or you running out of thing to say? The truth hurt isn’t it ?
May 16th, 2009 at 9:33 am
I used to own five houses in Corona, and three nail salons in Westminster. An example of Bush’s celebrated era of ownership and free money.
May 16th, 2009 at 9:52 am
Hey homeless, it not Bush’s fault that you were greedy. You can blame on your own stupidity for became homeless. I don’t see any one blaming Bush when the people became millionaire overnight 5-7 years ago. People have made so much money through Real Estate but didn’t know when to stop. I didn’t see Bush pointing the gun @ anybody & tell them to go out & buy houses. And if I remember correctly, Bill Clinton was the one who made the banking institution invented all kind of programs to make it easier for consumer to borrow money so don’t go blame anyone except yourself when you’re the one who couldn’t calculate your own budget.
May 16th, 2009 at 10:02 am
OC Mexico Citizen selling old moldy corns…how is your lying business lately ?
Your only motivation is to attack our good viet leaders serving this viet american community.
Get your red rear out of our sight before you become a red jerky after 50 whippings by our viet community members!
May 16th, 2009 at 10:11 am
We need to get rid of some anti viet fleas with good insecticides…. Art Pedroza from orangejuicy and boy george Vinh idiot running a bogus Saigon site from San Jose!
These two dirtbags are attempting to disrupt our community’s growth and empowerment ……while sitting on the broken toilet.
May 16th, 2009 at 10:17 am
People are excited and welcoming Assemblyman Van Tran’s important decision to run for this congress seat.
Go Mr. Van Tran!
May 16th, 2009 at 10:21 am
Many scared Democrat staffers from Loretta’s camp are currently wetting their pants……this is the story on the street.
May 16th, 2009 at 10:37 am
The dogs’ leader has waken up ! Keep barking and keep hoping somebody will pay attention !
May 16th, 2009 at 10:47 am
I have to agreed w/ poster 5/15/09 @ 10:24pm, as stupid as Dina and still get elected, Mr. Quang Pham will have no problem getting viet’s support in this race.
May 16th, 2009 at 10:49 am
OC Mexico Citizen, I think you are right this time!
I am the leader and you are that lost stray dog…..should I call a dog pound or send your red rear to the cambodian jungle to become their brakfast meal? You are pretty dumb idiot!
May 16th, 2009 at 10:57 am
VN, you have a point there …..carpet bagger Andrew Do Do from Lee’s Sandwich is the “official crooked businessman” for GG now.
Dina Nguyen has a good heart and she deserves her seat.
May 16th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
Hee Hee, keep barking JK ! You’re sooo lucky I don’t debate anything with a dog !
May 16th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
OC Mexico Citizen, you are so lucky you have all of your nine fingers!
What a chicken lip sucking idiot!
May 16th, 2009 at 2:28 pm
OC Mexico Citizen, you don’t the meaning of word “debate”…… all you do is “lie” and these two words are not same!
Oh, where is your lost one pinky? It’s stuck inside of your left nostril!
Take it out before you get beat up by the nurses….you dumb idiot!
May 16th, 2009 at 3:33 pm
OC Citizen,
Can you say, “Ma^’t da^.y”? How about “Ngu do^’t”? That’s uneducated and stupid if you are dumb enough not to know. That’s what you are and your parents must be ashamed of you. Or shame on your parents for rearing such a kid.
Not even a dog would want to bark at you since you are deaf and stupid. If a dog does not even bother with you, then you must be an SOB? Son of a canine? Or maybe a Bi***h? Yeah, that is funny.
May 16th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
You are brutally direct with OC Citizen. That hurts. But may be that’s what needed to be said. THIS truth hurts. OC Citizen should sahut up if he doesn’t have anything good to write.
May 16th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
It’s too bad this Citizen loser can’t comprehend anything in civil manner.
May 16th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
That’s the problem with some Vietnamese. When other people do or achieve something, they just like to sabotage and throw rocks at the people who are doing something, while all they do is to tear things down. It’s envy and petiness. This OC Citizen is typical of this type.
May 16th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
I can donate used swine cage found in swapmeet for that wannabe citizen idiot!
We need UPS this idiot to Loretta…with the cage.
May 16th, 2009 at 7:56 pm
JK
Put Nguyen in the package and have her waterboy Andrew Do UPS it to Loretta. They all deserve each other.
May 16th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
oooohhhhhhh, still barking since I left ? It has been more than 6 hrs and still no one paying any attention to you dogs . You dogs must been sad, lonely & hungry . And OC Immigrant, that was pretty good boy! I’m so proud of you dog, your Vietnamese is improving so much since our last lesson . Now if you can bark ” gian lan ” and ” tro mat ” I will come back and throw you a treat . You ‘d like that don’t you . . . yah you would . . .
May 16th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
OC Citizen,
Viet Voter is right. You are one SOB. That;’s why you like to use the dog analogyu so much. You are of the same kind.
Here’s a little modern math for you to figure out:
Gian lan (fraud) + Tro mat (double face) = What?
Correct Answer: OC Citizen.
Cheers.
May 16th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
You are one big moron, OC Citizen.
May 16th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
GEEEE, I can’t even sleep with all the barking going on. Remember guys, no barking after 10 pm ! Well, I guess you could teach an old dog a new trick but you couldn’t teach a stupid dog any trick at all. OC Immigrant, please go back & redo your math :
gian lan ( fraud ) + tro mat ( no shame ) = ?
Correct answer = Cindy + Van Tran
Pity
May 17th, 2009 at 12:32 am
Here’s another new math formula for you to figure out:
Janet the Childish Nguyen + Andrew Do Do + Nick the short leg Le Cong = What?
Correct Answer: A bunch of frauds who scam on the Vietnamese community.
Here’s another math formula:
Andrew Do Do + Santa Ana = ?
Correct answer: Home.
Isn’t that illegal Andrew Do Do?
May 17th, 2009 at 12:59 am
I’ll be the judge to that!
OC Citizen was totally wrong, a couple of “its” partners were also wrong, and the rest of the people were right.
I hereby command OC Citizen to crawl back to where “it” came from.
May 17th, 2009 at 7:08 am
OC Mexico Citizen was up until midnight and this idiot hears “barking”? all alone! …… no wonder this loser is in the state funded mental institution.
Can you hear what play boy Tom says all the time for his excuse for cheating ? “all these young viet chicks are calling me 24/7 and I can’t neglect them”!
Then Janet would tell him…”Go ahead, I will play with my obedient doll Andrew Do Do”!
Andrew Do Do replys with big smile ” Thank you Janet for choosing me….I am neutral… unisex doll because… I have no balls” “I only have a tag says assembled in china”
May 17th, 2009 at 7:45 am
Andrew Do asked his master…..” please dress me pretty with your pink undies with a pretty white dress”.
His master replys, ” I only wear pants…. check all of my pictures. but you may borrow it from Tom”
May 17th, 2009 at 8:23 am
Only the good die young. Meanwhile, liberal scum like those pink bloggers in San Jose have nothing to do but pushing their Democrat/immigration-for-all/health care-for-all/homosexual-for-all agenda into God’s country. We’ll fight you til the end, believe us!
May 17th, 2009 at 8:50 am
Hey Judge, they say ” Justice is Blind ” but that doesn’t mean you have to be blind too. Clearly, we all can see OC Immigrant was cheating on his math. Cindy must had helped him with that & this is not a first time that she did something like that either. If you representing us in the court of law & you allowed people to cheat & break the law then you’re not worth to be in your seat. Base on all the evidences that we have here in this forum, I know that I have won the case fair & square but these Trannies are too bitter to admitted. I’m not all surprised by how they reacted but I’m disappointed at you for allowing yourself to be involved with something like that ! Shame on you Judge.
May 17th, 2009 at 9:45 am
OC Citizen must not be getting some hoochie from his wife last night. He kept talking about Van Tran’s wife. Wonder if he is a cheater too. I’ll check the show Cheaters to see if OC Citizen’s face shows up. He’s one pathetic ugly-heart SOB.
May 17th, 2009 at 10:10 am
Hopefully, OC Citizen gets lucky tonight with the ladies. He sounds really desperate on this blog. Poor boy!
May 17th, 2009 at 11:17 am
Let’s move away from this OC Citizen character. He’s a bad joke and his posts prove that every time. Let’s not waste any more time on a bad joke like OC Citizen.
May 17th, 2009 at 4:07 pm
OC Citizen wannabe is truly a weird mental patient who should be lock up with a urin stained Andrew Do Do doll.
May 17th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
As the judge, I have to be fair and impartial:
Jung Kim is just as vile & filthy as OC Citizen.
I hereby declared both of you unfit for human society.
May 17th, 2009 at 7:52 pm
Oh my gosh, you dogs are still barking ??? Still sad, lonely & hungry I guess. And for you Judge, I’m convinced that you are blinded & I recommend you should resign.
May 18th, 2009 at 8:19 am
Hey judge, OC Citizen wannabe wants you to resign and start a family with him…… at the mental institution. In the next cell, you should find Andrew Do Do texting Janet!
May 18th, 2009 at 8:28 am
Hee… Hee… Don’t be jealous JK, we all know you have a thing for the judge and all the Trannies. Too bad, all of them only toying with you. Once a fool always a fool !
May 18th, 2009 at 8:54 am
OC Citizen wannabe, you can paly with your own inexpensive toy……pinky stuck in your left nostril. Long pinky giving you alot of pleasure?
Andrew Do Do’s got little pniky…it’s called wear and tear!
May 18th, 2009 at 9:20 am
OC Citizen wannabe, don’t you remember?
I am the official guru and hence I do not side with anyone with hidden agenda?
I am impartial and my vision penetrates into the very core of a person.
May 18th, 2009 at 11:20 am
Mr. Quang Pham,
You let the cat out of the bag. Now you have to move faster.
You website http://www.pham4congress.com/ still does not have any information about your intent or your issues.
May 18th, 2009 at 11:36 am
Don’t take for granted, Country First’s free consultation is really valuable.
May 18th, 2009 at 11:44 am
JK, why are you still barking ? You really think people actually paying attention to what you have to say ? No body give a sh*t about your opinion when it’s regarding the Trannies, your sex life and your toys (whatever that might be. . hee hee). I believed with the love of God, even you will be able to find someone for yourself in the future.
HAVE FAITH !
May 18th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
OC Citizen wannabe, check your english grammar……. I doubt you can pass US citizenship test.
Go try Uganda and also take your cage idiot!
May 18th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
In this town, you need a law degree to own a sandwich shop! Ask law breaker Andrew Do Do.
May 18th, 2009 at 2:47 pm
You might want to check your spelling JK, I doubt that you got in UCI or even graduated from there.
May 18th, 2009 at 9:03 pm
Hey peewee brain, ask another ant eater Janet. She might even have my picture from Irvine.
Pack your cage and leave our town ….and become a Uganda Citizen with $20 bribe money. You ding dong hollow malo loser!
May 18th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
You can take carpet bagger Andrew Do Do with you. Who knows, he can dig up his old law diploma from the garage and start a small law firm in Uganda…….representing illegals like you.
But then he might wants to open up a another Lee’s Sandwich shop in Uganda.
May 18th, 2009 at 9:18 pm
Is Tom Breaklawsky a still business partner with Andrew Do Do?
May 18th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Andrew Do Do’s real resident is called “@#%^ Cafe” near Fountain Valley….where young college chicks take free dirty dancing lessons from this dude.
May 18th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
Janet said you flunk out because she didn’t let you copy any more of her works. Now that should explain all the bitter you had with her through these years . Every time her name came up, you’re reminded again of your own failure. What a pity !
May 19th, 2009 at 8:29 am
Who is worse - Van Tran or Janet Nguyen? Vote now at http://orangejuiceblog.com/2009/05/van-tran-is-bad-but-janet-nguyen-is-no-better/.
May 19th, 2009 at 8:45 am
OC Citizen wannabe heading to Uganda, Janet said you didn’t call her last night! You must have been talking to some street girl named Janet ….from a sidewalk next to LAX. You dingdong idiot!
May 19th, 2009 at 8:46 am
Who is worse? It’s easy! Anti Viet cholo graffiti artist Art Pedroza!
May 19th, 2009 at 9:15 am
This idiot shows up every 10 days to attack our viet officials. Art Pedroza needs to find a $5/hr monkey training job somewhere in Santa Ana.
We need to make this idiot busy with something positve.
May 19th, 2009 at 10:02 am
Art Pedroza is a weak , timid individual abusing his fraud site to take little jabs against anyone who is successful with loser’s mentality. Even his own latinos hate this crap face. With his dirty cholo attitude, he is hurting no one but himself.
Get lost cholo face!

According to Roll Call, “the House ethics committee is reviewing whether the chamber’s rules were broken when Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) put three of Rep. Loretta Sanchez’s (D-Calif.) aides on her own payroll in late 2006 because of a budget shortfall in her sister’s office.”

State Senator Acts to Reduce his Legislative Pay Immediately.
In light of California’s dire budget shortfall, Orange County’s State Senator Lou Correa today took action to immediately cut his own legislative salary 10% (ten percent) below what is currently allowed to be paid to legislators.
May 20th, 2009 at 4:22 pm
Correa’s Measure for Nail Salon Industry Passes the Senate
“By simply providing information in a language workers and owners can understand, the BBC can ensure that both consumers and workers are protected from preventable hazards,” said Leilani Yee, of the Asian Americans for Civil Rights and Equality, also co-sponsors of this bill.
Existing California law requires an applicant for a manicurist license to complete an application, pass an examination, meet other requirements and pay a specified fee. Existing law also requires an establishment in which nail care is practiced to be licensed by the board.
Current data on language and ethnicity is insufficient in the beauty industry. Most nail salon owner and workers, for example, often cite language as the most common barrier they face when accessing workplace health and safety information. In California alone, there are over 114,000 licensed nail technicians and more than 260,000 licensed cosmetologists. Estimates of Vietnamese nail technicians in California vary widely from 40% to 80%, and many are limited-English-proficient (LEP).
“SB 549 is great example of a Board’s collaboration with an Industry in working together to address complicated issues,” said Senator Correa. “Language preference is not known for the English limited proficient worker population and as a result information may not be communicated in a language workers understand. The language and ethnicity data will enable the BBC to identify language needs, conduct culturally competent outreach and develop effective policy that will help to prevent occupational health hazards and better serve the community,” Senator Correa concluded.

Hey Free Agent, just because the economy is bad that doesn’t mean you have to work for ” free “. I can’t believe Van Tran has a toll free # to recruit ” viet gian ” now. Guess he never learn ! And BTW, is he doing a lot of ” kinky ” stuffs now a day, what’s with the ” 6969 ” ? FYI, you could get pay ” top dollar” for doing those stuff you know. If you don’t believe me just ask Dina.

Judy Chu won the primary election _ A Framework for Campaign Success
Mrs. Chu won many early endorsements from Latinos, as well as the support of many labor unions, including the powerful County Federation of Labor. She also had a large base of local support that stemmed from various municipal and legislative offices she has held in the district.
Cedillo and Chu, each candidate had hundreds of campaign workers and volunteers knocking on doors in the district over the weekend, and about 500 in the district Tuesday alone.
Throughout the primary race, many political analysts questioned whether Judy Chu, a Chinese-American, could beat Cedillo, a well-known Latino, in the largely Latino district, which extends from East L.A. through Monterey Park, Rosemead, South El Monte, El Monte, Baldwin park, West Covina, Azusa, Duarte and Covina

Once you get there, you can choose between 6969 or 9696.. as a new citizen of Uganda, you have a choice!
May 21st, 2009 at 12:46 pm
Free Agent,
You are Van Tran. That’s why you responded. 00 is your number and Cindy told you many times that you’re nothing, double nothing to her unless you can made something of yourself. Don’t deny it.
May 21st, 2009 at 1:08 pm
Jung Kim Korean wannabe……, #6969 was your student ID # and we all got a good laugh whenever your ID was called . You didn’t want to change it back then since you thought it will help you with the ladies. Well, turned out it didn’t even help you score with Janet so I guess that was an unlucky # for you after all . Hee Hee

OC Citizen wannabe from Uganda, you are too funny.
What do you mean by …….”score” with Janet?
I need further explanations.
May 21st, 2009 at 2:20 pm
OC Citizen,
Keep on guessing boy. As your mother about me. She knows.
Maybe we’re related ….. son. Hahaha!! You are unbelivably stupid. Don’t mess with your long lost father!
May 21st, 2009 at 2:38 pm
Free Agent,
There won’t be any guessing girl. We know all about your mother. I know you’re hoping but we’re no where related. Hehehe !! You’re incredibly stupid. Disregard what your mom told you, don’t go call every guys she dated ” Daddy “. It’s pretty pathetic !
May 21st, 2009 at 2:43 pm
Jung Kim Korean wannabe, as stupid as you are , no amount of explanation will help you understand why Janet didn’t want you. You didn’t get it then, surely you won’t get it now.
May 21st, 2009 at 2:46 pm
Talk to your old mama. She remembers me. She whines like a pig. No wonder her son, OC Citizen, comes out like a pig too. Hahha. That’s a good one!

OC Citizen wannabe from Uganda’s real mom ……….lives in Uganda. Unfotunately she is remarried with the village chief and this idiot has step brothers. Sad.
May 21st, 2009 at 2:57 pm
Ask Janet about me and she will tell this Citizen wannabe the whole truth.
May 21st, 2009 at 3:02 pm
OC Citizen wannabe, do not take your mom back….she has made too many rounds with other young commanders whenever your new step dad aka (chief) vacated straw home.
May 21st, 2009 at 4:35 pm
As I’ve said Quang Pham is a Republican in hiding(non-declared)
He will declare Republican when necessary:
“Pham told the Orange County Register last week that he was considering the race and would likely run as an independent–unless Tran steps aside, in which case he would run as a Republican.”
This man is arrogant and dangerous, he is willing to destroy Van Tran’s chances in order to satisfy his ego:
“Common sense says we split the votes, and she gets reelected,” Pham said. “I’m walking that line until somebody says, let’s see who emerges as the best candidate to beat Ms. Sanchez. You don’t pick somebody a year and a half before the general election.”
“Everybody will look at me as the spoiler. I look at it as, why would I want to (run in the primary) when they’ve already picked their person?”
I remember Larry Phan with no political experience got 417 votes for his run at OC Supervisor seat in 2007, I’m just wondering how many votes will Quang Pham get in 2010?
May 21st, 2009 at 5:25 pm
NV, let Quang Pham run as he is his own man. More candidates we have in this race……. more Loretta Sanchez will be hurt because they are ALL running against her.
Quang Pham can take easily 40%+ votes away from Loretta.
May 21st, 2009 at 6:08 pm
Haha . . . Haha . . . are you running out of stupid things to write or what ? The only pig I could see here is your boss VT, just look @ his face ! The rest of you are in the hiding, too ugly to be look at I guess … hehe hehe
May 21st, 2009 at 6:18 pm
Jung Kim Korean wannabe, there’s no need to ask Janet. The whole campus knew about the crush you had on her. And don’t worry about what’s going about other people’s business, just try to understand yours first. Like do you ever wonder why your name is Jung Kim, guess whose your mom been having fun with while your dad was busy busting tables @ the pho restaurant ?
May 21st, 2009 at 6:42 pm
JK,
If that’s the case then I’m not worry, but the thing is: Republican voters only vote for Republican candidates.
Quang Pham is a Republican in hiding so he will definitely draw votes from Republican voters, I just hope that he won’t get too much Republican votes from Van Tran in general election. Remember, every vote counts!
By the way, I’m a Democrat and I think Loretta Sanchez is a fine congresswoman, majority of Democrat voters will vote for her, only a few Democrats will vote for political novice Quang Pham. For the sake of Vietnamese community, I’m supporting Van Tran.
May 21st, 2009 at 8:05 pm
OC Citizen,
Why are you still barking like a dog in heat all the time? I know that you are an SOB but that doesn’t mean you have to behave like a dog?
Did ugly dog master Janet Nguyen, your boss, on the 5th Floor teach you how to be a dog? If she did, then you are a good dog and she’s a good trainer.
May 21st, 2009 at 10:02 pm
Oh MY GOSH, you sounded PISSED Free Agent ! Not only you’re pig . . . you’re one angry pig. As you already know, I’m good at everything I do and you on the other hand can only try to watch & learn. Since you’re already a pig , there’s no need for you to learn how to be a pig . . . you only need to eat a lot more & getting fatter. And since you’re one hell of stupid pig, I know you’d do whatever I’m telling you w/o a question ! So am I right or am I right ! ha ha ha ha
May 22nd, 2009 at 7:34 am
Who were behind those tax increase propositions on the May Special Election ?
* Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
* California Republican Party, with its $650,000 funding for the campaign.
Those wolfs in sheep’s clothing.
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:01 am
Politicians are biggest obstacles.
Seventy-seven percent (77%) of voters say the bigger problem in the United States is the unwillingness of politicians to control government spending.
According to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:07 am
Yah, I wonder what is the reason behind that ? Was it because of Assistant Housing, Food Stamps, Medical & Medicare and what about all those ridiculous salaries that our state have to pay those Social Workers for helping those people that want to take advantage of our welfare programs. Their minimum salary has to be at least $75,000.00/ year. We can’t fix the problem if we choose to ignore the real reason behind it !
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:14 am
OC Republican,
You just hit the nail on the head.
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:28 am
yah, your head of course !
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:30 am
NV, so you think Loretta Sanchez is a fine person…not according to her senior ranking Democrat Congressman Joe Baca.
He said all she is good for is shopping for her personal necessities. ….ie, new shoes, hard liquors and new boy friends . Party woman!
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:36 am
And I bet, you’re one of those Social Worker who sit there collecting the payroll from our government & also have time to blog all day long. Remember those that talk don’t do & those that do don’t talk. Since Obama is such a good talker, just see what he can do !!!!
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:41 am
OC Citizen wannabe from Uganda, the whole campus from Uganda University knows about what?
I think swine flu is in your system confusing already demoralized broken heart. Go blame on village chief..I mean your step dad!
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:44 am
OC Citizen wannabe from Uganda, so what was going on between the guru and Janet?
Did someone had a camcorder running 24/7 ?
I don’t think so! You do need to ask Janet herself.
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:48 am
Jung Kim wannabe from Korea, I’ll let you in another secret . . . The real reason Janet turned you down is not because you’re stupid but because you smell like kimchi all the time. Sorry !
May 22nd, 2009 at 8:58 am
NV, this guru also believe Mr. Van Tran is the best candidate but Mr. Pham will erode unpopular Sanchez’s votes.
All candidates will chip away Loretta’s fragile voting block and Mr. Van Tran’s voters will be loyal to him on the voting booth!
Look at you….. you are a Democrat and still will vote for our Assemblyman.
May 22nd, 2009 at 4:57 pm
JK,
Here is my original prediction with LS getting 45% of the votes THANKS TO DEMOCRATS LIKE ME, otherwise she would get more than 60% of the votes just like previous elections:
” In the general election of 2010, Quang Pham will resort to run as Independent and gathering about 5% of the votes. This time around, Loretta Sanchez will face a well-known, worthy opponent Van Tran, therefore she would get about 45% of the votes. For Van Tran, he will come out a victor with about 50% of the votes.”
You failed to see the danger of another so-called Republican QP drawing the votes from Republican VT, for example if QP would get 15%, VT would get 40%, and the winner will be Democrat LS with 45% of the votes.
May the best man or woman win!
May 23rd, 2009 at 1:13 pm
NV, your caution is well taken but I still feel Pham will further weaken Loretta’s unhappy support group.
There is a great chance Mr. Van Tran can wipe out Loretta by 10%+ margin point in either scenario.
Assemblyman has strong positive name recognition among all voters in the district.
May 24th, 2009 at 6:14 am
NV,
I must admit that your past comments have been extra-ordinary insightful, and well-timed.
However, your concerns about the possible running of Mr. Quang X. Nguyen might be a bit premature, and presumptuous.
If one takes your concerns to the last presidential election, then Mrs. Hillery Clinton would have garnered all the democratic supports during the primary season, then Mr. John McCain would have won the general election. What a dramatic and diametrical world.
The purpose of having a primary season is to encourage new ideas, new faces into politics. Candidates have a chance to focus their messages and expand their support. Mr. Mitt Romney brought over his whole campaign staff to Mr. John McCain camp. Mrs. Hillery Clinton help Mr. Obama refine his messages on defense.
In fact, I would like to see more candidates for this congressional seat. More ideas and more solutions for the current economic crises.
If this primary campaign comes down to two final candidates: Mr. Quang Pham and Mr. Van Tran, then I am sure we will witness a process of political consolidation of the two camps.
May 24th, 2009 at 7:42 am
** The Afghanistan/Pakistan front is much more difficult to pacify, requiring much more troops as well as resources. How to handle two wars will be a national issue for the next election cycle. Which candidate has the experience to handle defense matters ?
May 24th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
What is OC Retarded Citizen doing on this blog? He should not be left alone with a computer where he gets on porn sites and go crazy without anti-retardation medication.
OC Citizen should be banned from playing with his keys strokes because his retardation is so obvious. he needs medication quick.
May 24th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Hey Retarded Citizen,
It’s good that you admitted you’re retarded. Once you realized what you are, it would be easier to get a treatment for it. Good luck on getting better! And since you’re still under treatment, I strongly recommend that you do not blog on this site . And whatever you do, stay away from the Trannies .
May 24th, 2009 at 10:09 pm
OC Retarded Citizen is you — OC Citizen. What a retard!
May 24th, 2009 at 11:53 pm
ooohhh, from ” Retarded ” to ” Real ” now ? IDIOT is more suitable for you. Stupid ” Ho ” .

Another Military Crisis with North Korea :
North Korean aggressive testing of nuclear weapon and missile in the past 2 years has clearly illustrated that US past policy of harsh rhetoric and inactivity has been a total failure. With US pre-occupation of the two wars in the Middle East and the economic crisis, North Korean has taken on a more ominous and defiant posture, wanting to extract more financial concessions from her neighboring countries, South Korea and Japan.
President Obama and his National Security team would have to construct a new strategy with a more active engagement and more concrete punitive measures to demonstrate our commitment to reduce nuclear threats not only in North Asia, but also in the Middle East.
Defense will emerge as a national issue in the next election cycle.
May 26th, 2009 at 5:54 am
Japan Prepares to Rearm its Defense :
A new defense agreement between the US and Japan should be announced soon which will enable Japan to start re-arming her military with offensive capability to face with new threats from North Korea.
Japan’s new robotic unmanned aircrafts are lighter, longer range, and much more capability than our drones by General Atomics and Raytheon.

OC Citizen wannabe from Uganda, all viets support Mr. Van Tran and you want us to stay away from our proud Congress seat candidate?

Jung Kim wannabe from Korea, I just want good, honest voters to stay away from any corrupted, crooked or slutty politicians. However, Jung Kim you seemed like you belong with those type of politicians . You sure do not sound like a good, honest person. Be smart & use your head . . . BTW, do you happen to know which head you need to use ? … Nope, not that one ! … No wonder !
May 26th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
Pham Xuan Quang has too much pride when joing the race and giving press responses like he would register as a Republican if Van Tran drops out of the race (how possible?). He thought he is somebody after publishing a book, getting an MBA and being a CEO of his company. Well, that’s quite an accomplishment but remember many others also accomplish something like that.
Take Dr. Tran Hung Phong as an example. He has a degree in medical, then an MBA from the very same school of Mr. PXQ (UCI), and is the president of his own medical group. He’s better known in the community than Mr. PXQ. Or take Dr. Tam Nguyen for another example. He also has an MBA and is the owner and president of one of the largest beauty schools in California (Advance Beauty College). He is also well known in the community. Another example is Dr. Michael Dao, president and owner of Healthcare Systems 2000 medical center. He is very popular, too. The 3 mentioned above individuals are about the same age with Mr. PXQ, earn high degrees in their fields, have impressive accomplishments, and are very well-known. If they decide to enter the race, they would have the same qualifications and resources as would Mr. PXQ. They would have more popularity power, which Mr. PXQ lacks.
I hope Mr. PXQ will be more humble. Remember that “tre`o cao te’ ddau”. It will hurt him more if he is so arrogant, naive, and unrealistic.
May 27th, 2009 at 8:43 am
OC Wannabe Politician from Uganda, just tell your villagers the truth…you wannabe somebody with decent title attached to your misearable name.
Why don’t you call yourself a king? Even better …… a King Kong?
All these man made titles are useless my friend and you need to kick off your adult diapers then grow up!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:27 am
The truth ? The truth is you’re a useless person who has nothing to do with his pathetic life beside blogging in this forum trying to kiss ass some dirty politicians. You need to grow up and get a life & try to do something good for our community. If you so proud of being Viet, why using the name ” Jung Kim ” ? Are you ashamed of your miserable name or something ?
May 27th, 2009 at 10:29 am
OC Citizen, aka A-Hole,
I saw your mom and dad last night and they were doing the thing. They were doing it at Garden Grove Park, outdoors for everyone to see. I know it’s your parents because they kept yelling, “OC Citizen is our bastard son and we want to disown him!”
May 27th, 2009 at 10:37 am
Haha Haha, Oh my gosh what are you idiots would think of writting next ? Well keep doing exactly what you’re doing which is ” wondering ” . And BTW, what are doing in the park last night ? Peeping tom on people again ? You need to stop that, it’s pretty sick you know ?
May 27th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
OC Citizen, aka A-Hole,
Either you are dumb or you are stupid, or both. I was walking my poodle at Garden Grove park last night and ran into your mom and dad on the park bench, hardly peeping on anyone, since they were doiong the dirty thing and calling your name out in public. How shameful. But for a son like you, they wouldn’t know what shame is really.
May 27th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
OC Wannabe politician from Uganda, the truth will hurt your soul!
The idiot from the village of public ditch is not a revered politician ……but a laughing stock. No wonder this idiot always have a gay laughing style ie he he ha he he ha…~
May 27th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
Wondering woman, stop wandering around the park with your partner, I meant poodle . If you are trying to look for any decent man out there, unlikely he’s not going to be there . Be a good woman, stay home & take care of your children. If you want to learn a thing or two about doing it , there’s always a Blockbuster . In case of emergency, there’s always your poodle . . . Haha . . . haha . . .
May 27th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
Lefty pathetic creep wannabe Korean, the truth will open your chinky eyes !
I’m glad you stop crying & enjoy watching me laughing. I know you were hoping Van Tran is gay. . . well keep on hoping. Hehe . . . Heeeeeeeeeee
May 27th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
My God! I just spotted OC Citizen doing the hanky panky at Garden Grove Park. he just pulled his pants up and ran out of the park like a mad dog when the police came by with their lights.
To Oc]C Citizen, take your perversion into your cave, please, or you’ll be arrested for bestiality.
May 28th, 2009 at 7:50 am
Wondering Wo Man, you need some advices. First of all, don’t call out God when you’re lying because He knows. Secondly, and this is kinda impossible for you but God would want you to get a real partner and start doing the humanly style instead of the doggy style. And lastly, don’t cry out bestiality when you’re the one with the dog in the park at 11 pm because it made you sounded like Van Tran when he cried out about ” fighting crime ” while he’s the one who is sleeping with a criminal.
May 28th, 2009 at 9:01 am
No wonder woman, I saw this OC Citizen wannabe idiot digging around public parks with broken shovel….idiot is claimimg he is making a public toilet system for his family members…this ding dong mental patient has no shame! He will need a 5 gallon buckets to be used as washing jugs.
I think OC Wannabe will borrow these buckets from Loretta Sanchez…party woman Sanchez has plenty of vomit buckets.
May 28th, 2009 at 9:31 am
Hey lefty creepy wannabe Korean, the word ” doggy style ” got your attention huh ! Don’t jump up & down with excitement now ! What ever you do don’t disappoint God & go back to the kinky style. It would be a match in hell if you & wondering Wo Man get together or are you two already found each other ?
May 28th, 2009 at 9:35 am
OC Citizen wannabe, since you want to have something official title attached to you name ….how about a “Sir Cock Roach” or a “Dr. Doggy Citizen Sanchez”?
May 28th, 2009 at 11:00 am
Gosh, stop jumping up & down would you lefty wannabe Korean! You’re starting wondering like the Wo Man , poking into all the wrong holes now. You’re right about one thing, Janet is pretty smart & that’s why she refuse to associate with you & she knows you do missed her once in while . . .
May 28th, 2009 at 11:16 am
No, OC Citizen wannabe, Janet is pretty smart and that’s why I kept her for couple of years and I do miss her sometimes especially when you mentioned about doggy style.
You are an idiot!
