It’s officially Van Tran vs Loretta Sanchez now. The termed out Vietnamese-American Assemblyman from Garden Grove is once again proving that he can be a team player, going along with the GOP’s plan for him to run against U.S. Rep. Loretta Sanchez in 2010, instead of something more winnable like Lou Correa‘s or the soon-to-be-vacated Tom Harman‘s State Senate seat (for which Tran already filed a statement of intent; read here).
The first member of the press that Van Tran called to announce this was OC Register‘s Martin Wisckol, who wrote up on his blog here.
On Politico.com last week (here), GOP heavies opine that pitting Tran against Sanchez may be the GOP’s best chance at capturing a House seat. That would be quite a feat. Ever since Loretta Sanchez won a squeaker against Tran’s former boss, Rep. Bob Dornan, she has always won by double digits.
One thing for sure: If Tran does become the second Vietnamese-American in Congress, he will have a better chance at a second term than the first member.
Change is coming. Loretta, pack your bags and move out.
I’d vote for Van Tran over Loretta Sanchez any day. Even her fellowLatino Congress members called her a “whore”. It was in the Times a couple years ago.

That’s exactly why many of us don’t vote for the Repub. If we want a peasant government that sticks to rural tradition and has no respect for the separation of Church and State, we can feel free to move to Afghanistan or the Vatican. Keep America America!

I would vote for Van if I believe he’s a good contributor & a real anti Viet communists but sorry to say I don’t think he is . Van lost his trust in Viet community because of all the people he was recruiting like Andy, Dina and Tyler, a bunch of corruptors & idiots !

When you are disagreeing with non biblical concerns, you are fine.
However when you stand up against Jesus’s teachings in the Bible over your own personal “feelings” or views more “relevent” to the fabric of today’s social family value concern hence your perspective thoughts become more important…you are in trouble.
Anyone is better than Sanchez. I live in her district, and the quality of life has dived downwards.
