The success of a string of lawsuits naming red-baiters, such as here and here, has had a dampening effect on people bent on protesting any and everything perceived to be on the magenta side of the color palette.
Deprived of targets, some are turning against one another. The last few weeks have witnessed
a string of infightings among the loud mouths of Little Saigon, starting with the loudest of them all, Ky Ngo. This time, he’s the victim.
Fresh from a civil settlement with Nguoi Viet that, on the one hand, deprives him of his favorite pastime, but on the other let him off scot-free, Ky Ngo has been spending his days relaxing, getting some more sleep, looking more refreshed. If you see him now, you may even notice that he’d shed some of that deep tan he’d been accumulating for sitting outdoors for too long.
And then he made a mistake. The mistake of telling a joke.
When asked on radio why he’s no longer protesting, he cracked, “Nguoi Viet paid me $80,000 to stop. Hahaha.” Apparently he thought it was funny.
His fellow protestors, however, all of whom have a clearly demonstrated track record of not getting it, jumped on Ky Ngo.
One left a note on his car calling him a coward. Others called him a traitor.
These other protestors, not specifically named as defendants in the Nguoi Viet lawsuit and thus not subject to the judgment, are still carrying out a weekly protest every Saturday, walking up and down Moran, between the newspaper’s office and Bolsa Avenue.
Hours and hours of radio air time were spent on this “issue.” Some of it is repeated in a story by Viet Weekly here. The magazine, once a target of protests, is now making coverage of Ky Ngo’s days a central part of its contents.
Next up: Ky Ngo vs someone else
@ Mr. Country First:
They are feeding off from each other’s negative press.
I did not know what the hecks they are until the malicious attacks surfaced on the news (vietnamese local news).
Sensationalism is the newspaper main staple as it is for the anti-communist troopers.
@ Mr. FOB (it is an oxymoron to call you such, isn’t it LOL).
The money being sent back to VN never leave US. It stay here, and will be picked up by Can Bo’s children when they come here on student visas, some of that used to pay for their college tuition, nice cars, lavish homes, or shopping centers. Their party member parents just robbed more to come up with cash to give it to your relatives back home.
‘Uncle Ho’ name is catchy but some African dudes may think it is the place to get ‘Ho’. LOL….And yes, you need more than a smith wilson to keep you safe….but again maybe not, those protesters are just ‘bark, don’t bite’ type.
@ Country First:
I find your observation of Ngo Ky and others being victims, manipulated by newsprint to commit deviant acts publicly utterly irresponsible. Your belief is the responsibility lies within the entity with the power of suggestion, not the individuals carrying out the deed?
I might have created a wrong impression with my careless statement.
While Ngo Ky’s theatrical act of idiosyncratic soliloquy must not be condoned,
The Vietnamese media resembles a callous circle full of self indulgence, bourgeois ignorance, cultural elitist, and political mercenary.
@FOB:
Your advisors should be Mr. Smith & Wesson. Better yet, you should employ Mr. Glock or Mr. Heckler & Koch. They will provide you much better advice.
country first, would you be so kind as to pass the grey poupon?
Wilson..Wesson its sounds the same to this FOB and yes I am a FOB just an old FOB. I am going to the state departments website, i want to request a list of all student visas from vietnam; i’m curious at the number.
Seriously WTF commie kids getting educated on my dime, our dime! They kicked us out some 30+ yrs ago and now their kids are here, did they take the boat like the rest of us or fly first class?
I digress, back to work to support these pink eye kids.
I would like to concur with Country First’s opinion with a little qualification. Instead of “The Vietnamese media”, “A majority of Vietnamese media” would be more appropriate.
@Country First;
“…a callous circle full of self indulgence, bourgeois ignorance, cultural elitist, and political mercenary…”
Are you talking about the new bourgeois communist elite group back home?
I always find it very entertaining to read about Ngo Ky, Ly Tong and the likes. I know … I know… it’s bad!!! Just like we’re not suppose to point and laugh if we see a mentally retarded person walking down the street. But I can’t help it!!! It’s just so ridiculous.
