Don Ho the singer escapes protests

One of the top Viet singers was almost subject to a protest over a star that appears on a poster for an August concert at Bally’s in Atlantic City. This poster, the one pictured above.
See that star? Yep, that’s what community groups upon community groups were threatening a boycott over.
The hapless victim, singing sensation Don Ho, hurriedly sent out a massive email and a profuse apology and thereby averted any additional problems.
Now, if that reminds you of the “Macy’s star” belt buckle conundrum (read here and here), you would be absolutely correct. Even Don Ho made an allusion to it.
In an email sent to the “Vietnamese Community of Northeast U.S.” Don Ho wrote, “I know the community is very sensitive about stars, so I don’t own any star in my wardrobe or in my home, except for a star that I would put up at Christmas time like all Catholic families do.”
So now you know. And the Bolsavik has always thought that “fashion nazi” is just a figure of speech. Shows how the Bolsavik can be so very wrong.

I saw 8 stars on this poster ! let’s see who are the Communist singers ?
4 yellow stars are near Lam Truong, Thuy Tien, Minh Tuyet & Nguyen Hung but they wear dark or white clothes so they are OK.
1 white star is on Diem Lien stomach, she got a purple dress but the lower part is kind of reddy/brown so I think Diem Lien may be is a leftist singer.
Now, wait a minute, I see half of a yellow star near Nguyen Hung’s head, and it’s on a reddish background, so I think Nguyen Hung is NOT OK at I first thought. This guy must be another leftist singer !
And finally the infamous singer Don Ho, oh my God, this guy undoubtly is a hardcore Communist singer : he’s wearing something very close to RED, and he got a YELLOW star on his chest … and holy cow, there is another yellow star nears him on the browny/reddish background.

Wait a minute everyone. Are we living in a free country or still in VN? These anti-commie thugs are not different from the commies themselves. I long suspected we vietnamese are not struggling for the ideology per se, but we as the people are lowering ourselves to the laughing stock of civilization through the way we think and act. As a famous saying goes, “Any kind of people deserves its own government,” I have serious doubt that a non-commie government in VN would be any different from the current one. Luckily, younger generations both in VN and overseas seem to realize that the only way to go forward is to get rid of these thugs, both commies and anti-commies.

You should boycott all products from Nike, KFC, Pizza Huts, Nokia and hundreds of other US companies which are doing business es with the Viet Communists at this time and see how far you will get. Good luck. Need to spend your energy on the bigger battles not this useless, ridiculous issue. Need to know which one is or is not important. BTW, I hate communists!.

Hmmm Don Ho is probably one of the most Americanized singer in the bunch. This is so ridiculous but I’m glad that Don Ho tried to resolve it and not have it bursted into bigger problems. These old folks are always making a big deal out of such a tiny problem. Get a freeaking real job!!
