This is a good one. A Canadian Viet from Toronto has been charged with fraud for renting out other people’s apartment without being the owner or having the owner’s consent, says the Toronto Star here.
Hung (Joseph) Nguyen, 35, has been charged with fraud under $5,000.
Police believe Nguyen posted several ads on Craigslist.ca for the rental of a condominium apartment at 19 Avondale Avenue (pictured).
Allegedly, he “successfully rented out the unit and began collecting rent money, despite the fact he wasn’t the owner, nor did he have the owner’s authorization,” reports the Star.
Here’s what’s even funnier:
“Police say there may be more unfortunate victims of the fraud preparing to move into the apartment at the beginning of next month.”
Sounds like a good business model.
Now he has his own condo decorated with beautiful stainless steel bars.
This crook needs to pay back innocent victims.

Regarding Hung (Joseph) Nguyen, I for one am glad he was finally brought to justice!
I had the misfortune of befriending Hung when he was hired at my company as a full time employee. When you first meet this man, he seems like a very innocent, easy to trust and very friendly person and maybe he truly is. But he is also quite an evil criminal mind. For whatever reason he thinks that it is ok to take advantage of others, cheat them of their hard earned money and break people’s ability to trust others. Hung managed to cheat even myself out of a great sum of money that I know I will never recover, along with other coworkers of mine.
Unfortunately for Hung, his punishment will not be over. As one of his other victims from one of his other scams, I will also be adding my police report against his crimes he committed against myself and several other people I know personally that are in the same vote.
It is very important to note that Hung has brought shame upon himself, not the entire Canadian Viet community for his actions. We need only judge the individuals actions and stop at that, for there are crooks in every nationality. I am not Vietnamese myself but have many very close friends who are so those of you who would pass judgement on an entire race of people, well you should know better or maybe you are just racist?
Finally, the lesson to be learned from criminals like Hung are;
“Believe in Karma!”
“What goes around comes around!”
“People wishing for justice may have their prayers answered!”
