Viet candidate, treasurer face FPPC fine

A former Viet candidate for OC Supervisor and his treasurer (also Viet) may face a fine for failing to report almost all of a quarter’s spending, reports the OC Register here. The expenditures were not disclosed until a new treasurer took over and filed an amended report.

Hoa Van Tran was one of 3 candidates, all Vietnamese-American, fighting for the seat of OC Supervisor, 1st district, in 2008. The other two are the incumbent Janet Nguyen and Garden Grove Council Member Dina Nguyen.

The treasurer for Tran’s campaign is his boss at his day job, lawyer Phu Do Nguyen. Both Tran and Phu Do Nguyen may be subject to a $2000 fine by the Fair Political Practices Commission when they meet next week on May 13.

Reached at Phu Do Nguyen’s law office, where he works, Tran told Nguoi Viet reporter (the Bolsavik in his day job): “There’s nothing to comment, really, it’s just a mistake in the paperwork.”

The unreported campaign expenditures consist of 13 items, totaling $18,012 and amounting to 94% of the spending in the period of January 1 to March 17, 2008.

The Bolsavik has said it before, and will now say it again: Just as you shouldn’t date where you work, you also shouldn’t let your boss at work be a staff member on your campaign.

The three-way race ended with Janet Nguyen getting reelected with 55.4% of the vote, Dina Nguyen 28.2%, and Hoa Van Tran 16.2%.

A Democrat, Tran had planned to force a runoff provided that the two Nguyens would split the GOP vote.

sounds like something a republican would do.

  2. Old School Viet Style says:

It’s amazing how great the VN culture is when the very scumbags of the lot runs it. The deluded and ignorant run rampant with their wide mouth boasting how great the culture is. While there are great individuals, it is the few who really have no business in leadership positions but muscle their way through…and actually control the masses. What I want to know is where the f was the phony baloney culture and its BS morality when tyrants like Uncle Ho Chi Minh slaughtering innocent people?

If it is not some sociopath, then it is some BS politicans, running VN into the ground. They play the field to usurp control of the country and people and then run amuk. Where the f was the BS culture and its BS morality?

The answer is none – there is no morality in the BS VN culture, only moral individuals…when some douche bag Viet runs the mouth about how great the country is, then tell them they should enjoy it old school style, in a re-education camp because these jerks are stimuli driven, words don’t move them.

  3. Little Saigonese says:

    You are all wrong !

Election laws were written to protect the incumbents, who routinely win re-election 85% of the time.
Election laws were designed to prevent new people from running, with so much red tapes and records, and gigantic loop holes big donors, corporates and unions, who almost always give big bucks to incumbents.

  4. DiDiMauMau says:

I agree with Old School. None of Little Saigon’s politicians have ever held a real job or done anything significant. Here are their “jobs”:

    - Van, Dina -one-man firm; xe cam cho, cho cam xe, immigrition.bring new wife over from VN
    - Andrew Do – DA
    - Tyler – work for another politician Michele Steele
    - Tri Ta; BS nonprofit/community organizer
    - Phu – Send $ home to Viet Nam
    - Janet – Long Beach Chamber of Commerce?
    - DUI Quach…what jobs has he hold?

  5. Law Officer says:

Andrew Do can’t hold a steady job. He was a DA but he can’t get promoted. He was a PD but he can’t advanced. He was a one man legal show and he went into the PD and the DA to leech off the government. He wanted to be a judge but isn’t qualified.

Andrew Do is a failure. He can’t hold a steady job and now he ha
s to work under the skirt of Janet Nguyen. Is he really a true man?

  6. GG Voter says:

He is showing the same failures on the Garden Grove City Council. He has missed more city council meetings than any other member.

  7. Law Officer says:

Andrew Do is a frusrated and unhappy man. A loser really. He is a failed lawyer who now wants to be a big politician. He’s failling that too.

  8. Jung Kim says:

Andrew Do Fraud ……. is trying to con people and himself.

    Go wrap Lee’s sandwiches boy!

  9. xu says:

    @Old School Viet Style:

If you want morality, go to the church not politics. There is not one politician in the world that is 100 % moral….. not even Obama.

Again, if you want morality look for it in religion not politics.

  10. Little Saigonese says:

Overwhelmed with Vietnamese inferior complex and self criticism !

Reality is politics is a business, just like another other. The only difference is politicians tell you what you want to hear during election, and do what lobbyist want them to do, once elected.

Try going to a Democratic/Republican Convention, only two kinds of people there : those ( few) who have money buying influences, and those ( many ) unemployed mercenaries trying beg for a meal ticket.

“The art of saying yes to everything and everyone” is a very essential political skill.

  11. Saigonian says:

“The art of saying yes to everyone for a buck” is a very essential skill for politicians and prostitutes.

  12. Jung Kim says:

xu, you are only partially correct…. any human being on this planet, there is no one who is 100% moral.

The faith is the staunching guiding post where we are striving to become more moral in God’s presence.

  13. Jung Kim says:

Saigonian, whoever says yes to anyone for a buck is an idiot and a loser of his soul. It is NOT/NEVER an essential skill to become a good public servant.

More idiots being elected without honorable purpose and grand vision anchored by pure servitude…. for the public, there is diminishing hope for our future/youth.

  14. Saigonian says:

In the bamboo battle of Little Saigon, you are one boisterous boss of bamboozlement.

  15. Saigonian says:

    JK,

Did I see you at Party Convention in February at Knott’s Berry Farm ?

  16. friend says:

Little Saigonese: “Election laws were written to protect the incumbents, who routinely win re-election 85% of the time.
Election laws were designed to prevent new people from running, with so much red tapes and records, and gigantic loop holes big donors, corporates and unions, who almost always give big bucks to incumbents.”

That may be true, but what Hoa did had nothing to do with this. He didn’t report what he took in and what he spent. He can whine all he wants to about the system being “rigged” but he didn’t follow some very simple rules. Many people pointed out to him that he wasn’t doing the right thing but he decided to ignore them. Is that the kind of person you want running the government?

  17. Saigonian says:

    Friend,

Welcome to the club of virgins
Politicians broke campaign laws more than 700 times in 2009.

“During 2009, as a result of this approach, the Commission saw the highest levels of convictions for campaign cases, Form 700, conflicts of interest and gift violations, since at least 2005.”
The commission has actually prosecuted more cases so far this year than it did in all of 2009, in part because of a rash of improper gift reporting by state legislators.

Those infractions are peanuts comparing to this :
BP’s $400,000 in gifts to California leaders
    http://www.sacbee.com/2010/05/05/2729448/interactive-bps-400000-in-gifts.html

  18. Jung Kim says:

The election/campaign law is deeply flawed from it’s birth. Democrats usually enjoy automatic and powerful union contributions…end up serving union’s interests when they are elected.

Republicans have to pan handle smaller/ more difficult individual campaign contributions where they are often exposed/ becoming a prey to larger corporate donors and special interest lobby groups.

  19. Jung Kim says:

In result, we get to watch many weird laws being imposed upon public …against our will.

  20. Saigonian says:

A sumptuous treat at Frank Fat’s Restaurant is good way to soften Sacramento politicians’ opposition or concern.
The old adage : it is easy to say yea with a full stomach.
Jk, you know what I meant, right ? we have been there many times.

  21. Jung Kim says:

I know what you mean……. I guess as long as [ intent is pure and unselfish] voting yes with full stomach can be more pleasant experience.

Leaders. please kneel down today and pray to God to render us that great “wisdom” of Solomon !

Evidently, today is the National Day of Prayers.

  22. Saigonian says:

    JK,

    Beautiful ! Beautiful !

You have definitely been around long enough to know.

Let’s us pray, pray hard !, then go for a big lunch.
Let’s make it a profitable day, fundraising is exhausting.
Shall we meet at the restaurant for lunch, or you are not in town, today ?

  23. xu says:

    Jung Kim,

A Synagogue , Mosque or Temple can serve the same purpose. Also any religious item (small Buddha statue or sacred cow) can serve the same purpose.

    God isn’t necessary for morality.

  24. Uncle Kracker says:

    xu and all the morons

Youse gooks are good little jungle monkeys for implying that Viet politicans are no worse than others. Oh really?!!! While there is cheating in the US system, look around jungle bunnies and see the vast difference between here, the US, and your sh*thole VN (past and present). If your head is deep up your fellow Viet’s *ss and not see, then there is nothing to talk about.

From your response, I can see that youse gooks really don’t give a rat’s *ss about the Viets wrongly killed from by your own doing back in VN – if all politicans are corrupt, then it is ok for ours (VN politicans) to f*ck society up and kill a few hundreds of thousands.

Youse loose gooks are lucky that we missed a few of youse, would have been a sight see a few more charred remains.

  25. Jung Kim says:

xu, still trying to understand this life.

  26. Anh Tu' says:

Most of the viet politicians in Little Saigon are self serving. You will not see them when the community are in crisis or in need. Where were they when Hoang Tan Bui who was shot and later accidentally run over by a Westminster officer? Where were they when there was frivolous lawsuits against viet nail salon owners? Ironic State Senator was the one who stood up and fought for these salon owners.

  27. xu says:

    Jung Kim,

Christianity isn’t the only religion out there. There’s a lot of choices out there.

Don’t be such a brainwashed little bible-banger. You sound like Sarah Palin.

  28. xu says:

    Jung Kim,

Btw, I probably know more about science and medicine then you ever will so don’t give me that crap about understanding life.

  29. xu says:

    Uncle Kracker,

    Stop making up shit.

When in the last 10 years has the VN gov’t killed “hundreds of thousands”? Please provide links and sources because I know you’re making that up.

  30. DiDiMauMau says:

Uncle K got rejected by all Viet babes! He has Yellow Fever but can’t find a cure.

  31. Lou is a Liar says:

Anh Tu’ can call Lou Correa and Loretta Sanchez and see they will come out and help Bui Tan Hoang.

Correa help salon owners? Yeah right. He’s there for a vote. Correa is the slimmiest politician I know. What has This guy done for the community other than being a sooth sayer and a smooth talker. Jack!! Wake up and get your head out of your colonial mentality. What has this guy really done?

He broke his promise not to run for Senate when he was a Supervisor. He broke his promise to raise your taxeslast year. Is your wallet a little lighter. You have Corea to thank for.

  32. Ho Chi Vinh says:

junk kim is a bible thumping extremist.

  33. Dana Tresch says:

Hi, do you mind if I quote a bit of your article on my blog? I’ll post a link back! Let me know its a problem, thanks

  34. Jung Kim says:

xu, you are living in the christian nation … but, yes you may believe in anything you want ie.. discarded old broom stick in the garage.

  35. Jung Kim says:

Ho Chi Vinh from the Street Mama,

I am the official Guru proudly representing Viet commuity.

  36. Jung Kim says:

xu, hmmm still growing child, since you are an expert in high tech medicine…… can you send me some pills that will allow people to live forever? or, can you manufacture me a one simple living ant from scratch?

  37. Just Asking! says:

kImmy, if xu is a growing child then you must be an infant.

  38. Jung Kim says:

Just Asking like a Virgin, then you are an egg…. or a parasite discovered in the infant’s poop.

  39. Just Asking! says:

And kImmy, you are van’s pussy!

  40. Jung Kim says:

Just Asking like a Virgin, what is pussy? Is it joe mama’s name or something?

  41. Jung Kim says:

Just Asking like a Virgin, joe mama is lesbian and she can show what is pussy?

  42. Just Asking! says:

kImmy, look in the mirror … see the pussy?

  43. Jung Kim says:

    Amazing family!

  44. thoughtless says:

As you know, Arizona has recently passed the toughest anti-illegal immigration law in the country. It’s scaring everybody. In fact, it’s rumored that many Mexicans plan to get out of Arizona and back to California to work for Hoa Tran.

Of course, no kidding, Hoa will embrace all Mexicans: His Mexican campaign manager was accused to run a woman off the freeway (*). Two Mexican “goodfellas”– members of his campaign staff – were arrested on attempted murder charges (**). Any idea who his friends are on Facebook?

Actually, Hoa Tran is no dummy. He dodged the question about illegal immigration (***)

He said : “We (Viets) are legal now but we were illegal when we landed in refugee camps. It (illegal immigration) is really a federal matter”. Yeah, you know, if you’re illegal in California, you’ve already had a path to citizenship. It’s called the San Diego freeway.

Political refugees are the same as illegal immigrants?
Is Hoa a chicken shit or one of those full-of-himself idiots who thinks the North Vietnamese cadres are freedom fighters?

  45. Uncle Kracker says:

To all the Kluk Kluk Viets especially xu the dong head

Youse knuckles head don’t know sh*t about your own vn history…vn did not exist in the last ten years, try millennia. Since then, it has been attacked by invaders and by its own. And yes, the people running the show were too megalomaniac to care for their own people.

It’s this BS history telling and loose knowledge that his Viet’s own BS culture. Take the BS VN practice of Buddhism. For your information, it is a philosophy, not religion. Buddha himself said not to pray for him or anyone else. What the f do youse stupid do? Pray everybody and anybody.

I wonder if the praying is for your own mixed up confused deluded soul. If that’s the case, try stone cold knowledge from an education, rather than sitting around BS’ing one another .

  46. xu says:

no the US is a secular country. btw jk you’re a terrible Christian. the example you set is laughable.

  47. xu says:

btw, jk you worship someone who died 2000 years ago. and guess what? he’s never coming back. ever.

  48. Just Asking! says:

I looked and guess what? They both are trannies. Now that should explained how you know them so well.

  49. MAY says:

LATEST NEWS! DINA N JOE DOVINH ARE GETTING HITCHED. INVITE IS ALREADY OUT! NO KIDDING ON THIS ONE.

BOLSAVIK, CAN YOU HELP CONFIRM THIS

  50. xu says:

    Jung Kim,

    You’re a mockery of Christianity.

On the one hand you talk about God and Christianity then you attack other people and call people names.

Jung Kim is like Bolsavik.com’s mascot. You can count on him to do 2 things: #1) attack other people and #2) talk about God/Christianity.

I find it pretty funny actually. lol
