The 14-year-old South Phillie Viet teenager (pictured) was last seen on Christmas Eve.

His family is offering a $10,000 reward for information to find him, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer here.

The family is concerned he may have gone off with someone he met on the Internet, and they are making an impassioned plea for information about him, reports KYW 106 Radio here.

Vu’s mother Kim Le says her only hope is that he is with someone who won’t harm him and that he’ll hear her plea:

“If you’re out there and you hear mommy say something, Jason, please come home, Jason, I love you a lot, Jason, please let me know where you are. I’m so worried about you a lot every day.”

His 4-year-old sister was the last to see him. He put her in her room about 8 a.m. Dec. 24, said “Bye,” and shut the door.

Vu left his house at 23rd and Wolf Streets that morning without his cell phone, wallet, or prescription glasses, said his aunt, Michelle Nguyen. He has not been heard from since.

Nguyen said her nephew was quiet and reserved, and had never run away from home. An “A” student at St. Thomas Aquinas School, Vu was looking forward to opening presents on Christmas morning, she said.

“This is not like him at all. He doesn’t know his way around the city,” Nguyen said. “It’s very unlikely that he went away on his own.”

Vu is 5’4″ and was wearing black shorts and a black hooded jacket when he disappeared. He has black hair, brown eyes, and weighs about 140 pounds.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Citizens Crime Commission’s anonymous tip line at 215-546-8477, South Detectives at 215-686-3013, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-843-5678.

Investigators sifted through garbage at a New Haven incinerator Sunday, looking for clues into the disappearance of a Yale University Viet graduate student who was supposed to be celebrating her wedding day, reports the AP here.

An FBI agent said that investigators are “following the trash” that left the university building at 10 Amistad that houses Annie Le’s lab in New Haven. However, he declined to provide more details into the search at the plant, where the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority operates a trash-to-energy plant.

Authorities also decline to confirm on the record that evidence recovered from the Amistad building includes bloody clothing found in the ceiling as previously reported by the Yale Daily News (see here).

The source that talked to the Yale Daily News did so on condition of anonymity. CNN, however, in its story here, also received confirmation from its anonymous source that bloody clothing was found.

CNN’s source told it that the clothing was being tested to see whether the blood is Le’s.

Le was last seen on a Yale security camera entering 10 Amistad. Authorities have yet to find any image of her leaving it, despite the 75 security cameras covering the building.

Annie Le, a doctoral student in pharmacology, was last seen Tuesday, and her purse, cell phone, credit cards and money were found in her office.

The university has offered a $10,000 reward for information about her, and has published both a Yale Police phone number and an FBI Tip line, at (203) 432-4400 and 1-877-503-1950.

Investigators found bloddy clothing in Amistad Hall, the building where missing Yale graduate student Annie Le, 24, was last seen, report the NY Daily News here and the Yale Daily News here.

Police found the bloody clothes stuffed in the ceiling of the building at 10 Amistad St. in New Haven, which houses the university’s molecular biology labs. Annie Le’s lab is in the building.

Officials evacuated the building Saturday afternoon and declared it a crime scene.

Investigators, however, deny reports that a body was found. The TV station that made the report, Fox 61, deleted the story from its web site.

Earlier, the AP reported here that investigators are poring over the building’s blueprints, and going over security footages frame-by-frame.

They were trying to figure out how Annie Le, who was clearly seen entering the building on Tuesday morning (see the security pix here), disappeared without having left it.

On Friday, the police, intrigued that Annie Le’s professor cancelled his class the same day Le went missing, has questioned the professor. However, the university has emphasized in a Yale Daily News here that the professor is not a suspect.

A Viet graduate student at Yale University has gone missing just days before her pending wedding, prompting a massive search by state police and the FBI, reports the AP here.

Annie Le, 24, a doctoral student in pharmacology, was last seen at her laboratory Tuesday, and her purse, cell phone, credit cards and money were found in her office. To the right is a picture of Annie Le provided by Yale University.

Le is set to get married this Sunday. She has not contacted her family, co-workers or friends since Tuesday.

State police with bloodhounds searched the area where Le was last seen, and authorities were continuing to search nearby. The FBI was assisting, and investigators also were reviewing images from closed-circuit cameras.

Her fiance, professors, colleagues, friends and family also were helping.

Yale University Police has published the following phone number for people with information about Annie Le’s disappearance: (203) 432-4400.

The AP reports:

Le, 4-foot-11 and 90 pounds, is of Asian descent and has brown hair and brown eyes. She is from Placerville, Calif., the Yale Daily News reported. She received her undergraduate degree in bioscience in 2007 from the University of Rochester in New York, said Sharon Dickman, a university spokeswoman.

While at the University of Rochester, she did a summer project at the National Institutes of Health on bone tissue engineering with a goal of regenerating tissue for people suffering from degenerative bone diseases. She said her career goal was to work as an NIH investigator or as a professor.

Her mentor, Rocky Tuan, described her as bright and hardworking, saying the NIH undergraduate scholars program was very selective.

“She’s a very happy person,” Tuan said. “Everybody got along with her. She’s always smiling, laughing.”
